I'm at 164.2. I lost .6 lbs. I'm annoyed bc at one point this week I was at 163.6, but I had a wedding and then a bunch of friends over on Friday night, so I'll take it.
Later this week we're going up to the Catskills with some friends who eat like crap. They're both crazy naturally thin and love to eat junk and drink and don't understand dieting. So that's going to be hard. I also won't be able to do a check in until Monday evening bc I won't have a scale with me. Then we have the Jewish holidays coming up which is food food food. My biggest problem is the alcohol so I'm going to have to be really careful about that.
Oh and I have been exercising. I'm finishing week 3 of couch to 5k today. I've been trying to go to yoga but it just hasn't happened bc of H's crazy work schedule.
.6 is great! I lost that lb that I gained bit that was it. I'm now back to 153. It was Dh's birthday and I made a bunch of special dinner so I know why it wasn't more.
I have been back to lifting and am happy with the results so far. Last week I also weighed in on Wednesday because I had my physical for life insurance and I want to see what the difference will be.
I'm nervous about going back work this week. Working out at night is hard enough when I'm not in the classroom all day. I'm going to have to really work at keeping my gym routine up.
159, so down two pounds. Spent yesterday on a winery tour and ordered dinner in though, so any progress may have been lost (I weigh myself on Fridays).
I'm feeling discouraged after seeing pictures from yesterday. I just feel like I look so huge right now, the weight does not sit well on my frame (in college I was between 120 and 130) and the weight loss feels like it will take forever. I just want to stay inside until I feel pretty again :-P

I get ya. I was 127 when I got married and 133 when I got pregnant. I can't even imagine being that small. But, one day at a time. We can do this!

That's a good thing to remember one day at a time. I should be cleared to work out properly on Monday at my 6 week postpartum checkup so that ought to help.
Good luck with your routine after work! I taught last year and found it so hard to exercise after a full day on my feet, but I think seeing results will keep you motivated. And so will we! You can definitely handle it. We will get back to happy weights. I miss my clothes lol

I totally get that. I set smaller goals for myself along the way so it's not "ugh, 14 lbs to go." It's "only 4.2 more pounds till 160!" And stuff like that. I think it helps.

So, despite working out every day and eating mostly well, I'm back up to 140, after being 138 last week. I have, however, lost an inch from my waist and hips since the last time a measured a few months ago, and I haven't been doing any exercising until recently.
still at a plateau I need to incorporate more exercise, but it's just so dang hot here. Hoping September brings cooler weather so we can be more active.
I was on a slippery slope of starting to cheat a lot, but I'm refocused now and have done well this week. I was 151 this morning, so I am down roughly 30 pounds from my pre blake weight, 1 pound from my pre Avery weight, and 15ish pounds to my happy weight.
Jeff and I have been doing a body pump (weightlifting) class at the YMCA every Tuesday and Thursday. It has really helped to have him hold me accountable since going to the gym together has become part of our weekly routine. I am going to try and add in one more day of cardio this week.
I like set mini goals for myself to stay motivated too. Every ten pounds I lose, I get a massage. My next big goal is to get to 145. Once I am there. I am having a balls to the wall cheat day and getting Aussie cheese fries from outback .

I read somewhere that sometimes you gain weight when you start to exercise a lot bc your blood volume increases in response to the new cardiac needs and that it can take up to 4 weeks to regulate. Losing inches is great though!
I started working out again in mid-June and logged 50 miles or so from mid-June through mid-July and then I hurt my foot. Last week was my first time back, it seems healed. I went to the gym again today and it felt good. I'm ready to start working out again as I had SO much more energy this summer when I was going (4-5X a week!) so that was awesome. I've gained a little weight from cooking and baking so damn much - so the challenge right now is to find a way to feed the boys and myself while not pigging out on carbs as I tend to do (esp since they are carbihores, both the baby and hubby.) I just got a food processor, finally, so I am excited about all the veggies/salads and from scratch stuff in general that will be easier to make w/ it!
Do you guys weigh yourselves every day or just once a week?
I've been doing every day but I think that I'm becoming a little obsessed with it, so maybe I should switch to once a week?
I just do it once a week. I heard that it's better to do it once a week from someone a long time ago, not sure how true that is. For me, I just feel like what I weigh depends on how much I drink throughout the day, how bloated I am and what time of day I weigh myself so it just seems like I get more out of it if I do it 1x a week.
I hope no one would mind me jumping into these threads immediately upon delivery?? Would that be a problem for anyone? Still like 7 weeks away but I'm getting excited for weight loss ;-)

Doesn't bother me!
I have to get knitting for your baby! You still want the pumpkin hat, right? I was going to bring it on vacation with me this weekend

I get depressed if I weigh myself too often. I only do it on Fridays.
Yeah, I found I was constantly thinking about it and even weighing myself more than once a day these past couple of weeks. I need to cut myself off from my scale. I think I'll do Fridays too so I don't have the weekend foodfests added on

This is why I do Fridays. I only go out to eat on the weekends.

yes!!!! Please don't worry if you don't have time though - I don't want to inconvenience you!

I used to do it every day but that drove me batty. I now do it once a week but I think I need a bit more "pressure". I am thinking of going to twice a week.
I missed this thread the other day. My weight stayed steady, which I'm okay with because I ate and drank way too much last week, plus I was driving everywhere instead of walking. I
did get a couple of runs in - my first since last fall! My first run was 3 miles in under 30 minutes, which I was pretty happy with considering it's been almost a year since I last ran.
I saw a couple of pictures from my friend's wedding and was shocked that I looked smaller than I thought. My weight hasn't really changed (aside from regular fluctuations) since October, but my clothes are fitting better, so toting this kid must be a good toning exercise.

I always weigh every day when I'm trying to lose. I think it helps to see your natural daily fluctuations. Also, when I'd see that I had gained a little, I'd make it a point to eat better that day.

I think it's helpful to see the natural weight changes too. And then you're less likely to freak out over a small increase or whatever.
That said, I have gained some weight this winter (our winter) as it's been raining so much and I haven't been out running. Also we've been partying way too much - too much food and wine. Must shape up as my jeans are all tight and I have resorted to tights/skirts and stretchy pants LOL.
