Today is my off day and I slept in until 9am! Our car got towed, but the fee was 100€ less than what we were originally told, so that is good news. My sister is coming in September and we are planning what we would like to do then!

Can I be a big AW with my Good News?
I want to tell someone, because I feel so incredibly blessed, but it's also selfish, so I feel bad sharing.
My family does an annual cruise and this year I'm missing it. My family called me from the cruise, and they are missing me. After I spent all day crying, DH told me to go ahead and book the cruise for next year and we'd worry about financing it later.
Well, today my mother called from the cruise to say she had booked me a cabin of my own, not to share with my brother (DH can't make the cruise due to timing). When I told her there was no way I could afford the single supplement (200% of the double occupancy fare), she told me not to worry and started crying. When I asked her about it, she told me that part of her inheritance from my Grandfather is being put aside for use to take the cruise and have a few days in Quebec beforehand. I was in tears. My grandfather was an avid traveller and this route was the one route he was sorry he was never able to do (Canada/New England). Mom and her brothers decided that there was nothing Granddaddy would want us to do more to celebrate his life than to travel. Her brothers' families are going to spend two weeks in Hawaii instead of taking a cruise.
I just wanted to share with someone. Sorry if it's too much AW.
Dorothy - no such thing as too much AW. And what a lovely story! I'm sure your grandfather would love to know that your family will use his legacy to spend some time together, that's a perfect use of the extra money. What a great thing to look forward to for next year!
My AW... I'm still pregnant! And I didn't throw up yesterday (it's the little things...!) And I found the HB (well, DH did) on the doppler for 3 days in a row now. Starting to look pregnant (or fat) which I'm loving.
My good news is that our kitchen is coming! We have a date. It's not until July 10, but I'll take it! At least we know it will be here before I leave for the US.

Wow! I love all the news today.
DorothyinAus: You are not being an AW. That is so great. When is the cruise?? I love cruising too. Hopefully, I can go one next year.
Pitt: Glad you have been hearing the HB and that starting to look pregnant.
PotatoPie: Yeah for DH coming home. I bet you are so happy!!!!
Popcorn: That is really great news. Hats off to you for being able to survive so long without a kitchen. What is the first thing you are going to make???
I shared my good news yesterday. So I am still pretty happy about the good results from my scan.
Wow, this was such an uplifting thread! (Although I did tear up a little at Dorothy's news.)
I finally received a copy today of the 300 + page book I translated in the summer of 2010. It was published this past March, but the editors kept sending it to my address in NY instead of to Paris. I got to show it off to the other moms at DD's yoga class this afternoon.
Potential friend meeting tomorrow. Crossing my fingers we click. She's actually my age, grew up in the city next to mine, and recently moved to Chicago with BF.

The cruise is next October. It's the end of season repositioning cruise from Quebec to Ft. Lauderdale, with stops in Saguenay and Baie Comeau, Quebec; Charlottetown, PEI; Sydney and Halifax, Nova Scotia; Saint John, New Brunswick; Bar Harbor; Boston; Newport, RI; and Port Canaveral, FL. I am over the moon excited. Baie Comeau and Port Canaveral are new to us stops.
The last trip my grandfather took was to Ireland. On the way back, he suffered a stroke on the plane, and had to make an emergency landing in St. John's, Newfoundland. He was in the hospital for two weeks and then had to stay another month in St. John's before he was cleared to continue his travel home. He explored a bit of St. John's and then a bit more of the region on the drive back to Arkansas. He said that if he had been able to travel more, he would have to go back to the area and do that cruise with us. So this itinerary is a perfect celebration of his life and that it's our favourite itinerary only makes it better.
Awww, that made me smile Dorothy. What an awesome family. I love my family and miss them but I think someone would end up overboard if we did a cruise.
My good news, I passes my GD test. I thought for sure I had flunked it because I broke out in a sweat during it and thought I would get sick. I received news from my doctor that I passed. Awesome-sauce!
