I am usually over on CFT, but I have a question for you. I am getting my makeup done professionally for my bff's wedding, which is great.
Do you think it would be rude or out of place if I went in with my primer (liquid-powder mineral foundation)and shine free stuff already on? She would basically just have to do cheeks, eyes and maybe lips.
I don't want to piss anyone off or over-step my bounds.
Also, if she is using the airbrush makeup, that requires a special type of primer that the artist has to apply, so I would just go in bare faced with only your usual morning moisturizer.
It depends on what makeup they are using and if you know that your own stuff works better for your skin. For my wedding, I asked if it was okay for me to use my own moisturizer and primer, and the MUA was totally okay with that and understood. I wasn't doing airbrush though, which as birk mentioned, requires different stuff.
I say see if you can get a hold of the MUA and ask if that would be okay for you to do.
I think that totally fine. I have really sensitive skin myself and would probably want to do my own foundation anyway. (Although if its airbrush makeup I don't see the point in doing it either. )
For my wedding- my makeup artist just told me to wash my face like normal and put on whatever moisturizer I use daily. She did the rest.
However, for my bridesmaids- she said they can either do the same or do their own foundation and she'll do the rest. Many of them chose to put on their own foundation and just have her do eyes, cheeks and lips. And it wasn't a cost factor- I paid the same amount for all my BM's no matter if they did foundation or not.
If you want to do your own foundation I say go for it. Even if I get my makeup done I always put on my own mascara and curl my lashes since it totally freaks me out to have anyone else do that so close to my eyes LOL
Unless you have really sensitive skin, I wouldn't bother. One less than to carry or have with you. Oh, I have VERY sensitive skin and hav always been fine with what MUA have used. (and I have done tons of photo shoots and acting gigs with lots of different MUA and have never had an issue.)
I have really oily/sensitive skin, so my esthitician gives me things to use to prevent/treat that. I think I will give her a heads up and also bring it all with me and she can apply it as needed and continue with the rest of the makup application.
