I have a 12 miler on the calendar for that day. I trust myself not to do the 15k balls out, but I don't trust myself not to push it a little. At least it'll be an easy PR; my pace in my first half was faster than my 15k PR pace
The 15k is local and is named for/goes through the historical neighborhood that Calvin & I lived in when we were first married. I did it in 2011 and enjoyed it. Only one real hill, around mile 7.
I'd do it but tell yourself to take it easy. The "A" race should take precedence, and feel free to remind yourself about that along the adrenaline-filled way.
Isn't the answer to these questions always yes? I ran (only) a 10k before my last half marathon and still managed to break 2 hrs and PR. I tried to hold back, but at about mile 2 I said f*ck it and went all out, even though I was planning to just run it as a training run

I know not this "not racing in a race" philosophy. I race to race. I wish I could hole myself back, but I can't, so I can't let myself register for races that close to each other if I'm really trying for a PR.

You know your recovery time better than we would. I think running a 15k and 1/2 back to back is completely doable and you could feasibly race both - especially if the 15k is an easy course!

It seems like it could be doable, since you'll have to do 12 anyway. Only you know how you'd feel after a workout like that. Or, you could pace my sorry butt. Nevermind - you can probably walk faster than I can run lol.
