Since it would be awkward to post to FB you all get to hear about how awesome this moon cup thingy is. Almost makes the start of AF bearable. Especially because she showed up the morning before two dressy events I bought special outfits for -- my brother's rehearsal dinner then wedding.
Also guess I have confirmation that this is not my month for TTC. Hoping for better luck in September.
I want to try one of those cups, but keep putting off buying one because of TTC. I'm also out of pads right now but keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP this month.

I was sorta hoping buying it would mean I get KU and wouldn't get to use it for a while, lol. Maybe that would work for you?

I hope this is your last AF for awhile.
is there a difference between This cup and others on the market? Besides the environmental/chemical factor what actually makes these more appealing than a tampon? Comfort? Ease of use?

I have a moon cup and a diva cup. Same idea and material, slightly different shape. I think there's a difference between the UK moon cup and the US one; the UK one is natural rubber or something. I know there are some rubber brands in the US, but I'm very sensitive to latex, so I didn't pay attention to those.
ETA: I missed your other questions. I think they're much more comfortable than tampons. They don't wick and make me uncomfortable dry like tampons do. There's a bit of a learning curve in placement and removal, but I had no problem after my first attempt.
I like that I'm not introducing weird chemicals and fibers, and I'm not creating waste. Plus, it's cheap. I've spent about $40 total on two cups over the past five years, which is much less than tampons.
Note: my phone autocorrects tampons to tannins. It knows my preferred subjects well.

You can wear it for 12 hours at a time. So you only have to change it twice a day rather than every 4 hours. That's the big thing for me.

Confesh: On the last two days of my period, I left it in for 24 hours. No leaking.
You forget that the fucker is even in there! I feel like tampons are so uncomfortable. I love my Diva Cup!
A friend of mine posted a picture of a flyer she apparently saw in Frankfurt about making your own tampons out of felt. Which is just beyond fucked up to me in a world of Diva Cups. Also, honestly, I'd just rather bleed all over myself than shove felt up my vag.
And the text with it was fantastic; here's a rough translation for you: You are woman! Femininity is your pure lust and you are one with nature during your monthly cycle. I want to help you experience your menstruation with even more awareness! Together we will make tampons out of sheep's wool felt (washable/recyclable). It's YOUR body and YOU decide if outside influences and consumption dominate your "ME."
Mine hasn't. I got a little drunk and forgot it last weekend for about 24 hours, and there was no leaking or grossness.
GTK. Luckily I'm still w/out AF (brag!) but my time will come soon enough.
Oh and here is a TMI, does it spill when extracted?
*TMI alert* I've been using mine for a whopping 10 hours and find it both cleaner and more comfortable, plus I feel like I've already figured out how to put it in/take it out reasonably well. The first 2 days of my period, I nearly always wore both a pad and a tampon during the day and somehow still sometimes made a mess. Right now I barely need a panty liner which is just awesome. Plus no more buying/wearing uncomfortable tampons, I hope. I kinda want to shout about it from the rooftops and wish I had heard about it years ago.
I don't know if I could go 12 hours or not -- I've checked it every 3-4 hours so far, but partly out of curiosity, and partly to figure this new thing out. I could've only checked it once when somehow it seemed to slip down a little (probably operator error). Taking it out requires squeezing it (at least for me) so I would be slightly concerned about spillage if it was super full. But mine wasn't even close.
Oh, and if you've ever inserted an applicator-less tampon, I found this much easier/cleaner since the blood never has a chance to get everywhere in the first place.

How do you know when your cup over runneth?
Mine has twice but you just leak like you would if you forget to change your tampon. Another benefit that they say, and its happened to me but I don't know if its due to stopping bf or the cup. They say that it makes you period shorter and lighter. I've tracked mine since it came back 6 months pp and it did get lighter two months after I started using the cup. Oh, and that's another bonus. You can see your exact number of ounces! I really need to find an app to track that! (Im a dork.)

Huh. I can't see how that would be connected at all. I have the worst damn crampy periods now, and the Diva Cup ain't changed that at all.

You can take the cup out of the diva but you can't take the diva out of the cup.

I always feel like tampons drag out the tail end of my period vs. pads (and hopefully cups?). But not bc I thought they affected the total amount, they just seemed to slow down the leaking process.

I can't find where I read it but its something to do with allowing the tissue to come out and not absorbing it or something.
