I actually have something to report this week, so I'm burrying it in this post in the hopes of not looking like an AW. I appreciate how patient you all have been with me the last 2 weeks. lol
F: 5 easy miles S: Yoga S: 18.5 miles, 8:36 pace, 75* and 90% humidity when I started at 6:30. Boom! I'm back!
ETA: Sorry. I didn't even think about the fact that we'd add Monday. I keep forgetting that it's a long weekend & then I get really excited when I remember I have tomorrow off. I'll rest tomorrow, or maybe do a really easy bike ride with DH.
Friday night I had my first swim lesson, which was about an hour of me trying to get my breathing right and make it all the way across the pool without freaking out and picking my head up.
Yesterday and today I'm getting a ton of ab work in the form of coughing. lol
Lol! How did you like the class? Swimming as exercise intimidates me quite a bit. I mean, I could swim all day long, but having good technique & doing it as a workout, not so much.
It was frustrating, but I liked it. My instructor is a very, very nice girl (this is at the university rec center, so I was a little worried that I was going to get a snotty Polly perfect type). She said my strokes were good and my form was decent, except that I have trouble timing my breathing. I either try to hold out too long and then get panicky and pick up my head, or I time it wrong and try to breathe into my arm and get a face full of water (which also causes me to panic and pick up my head).
I think I just need to practice a lot. But I felt really good aside from the breathing thing. If I can get that down I think I will really like it.
F: 11 miles with the jogging stroller, including 5 x 800's at 5k effort (not really 5k pace b/c I was pushing baby) Sa: 6 hungover gross miles Su: 15 at marathon pace
Planning to do an upper body and core workout tonight, and an easy run to the park and back with the stroller tomorrow.

That's because swimming is boring
Friday: I woke up and had a migraine as soon as I opened my eyes..but I still did Tae Kwon Do in the evening
Saturday: 7.5 hotass miles-6:40- 7:15 pace with included grumbling and some stopping.
Sunday: 10 mile Trail run: 8:15-10 min pace depending on terraine
Friday: 30 minute run/walk Saturday: swimming! No work out! Just swimming! Sunday: 45 minute run Monday: swimming! It might be one of the last days I'll get to the outdoor pool in my area. It's always so sad!

F: 3 mile easy run S: rest S: 8 miles - my long run and it felt awesome. Best long run I've had in a while, despite 100% humidity. It was slow, but I'm trying not to worry about pace on my long runs M: 1 mile swim or 3 miles easy run or maybe both!
Sat: I was supposed to do 16 miles with 12 @gmp. That did not happen. What happened was a 2 mile warm-up, 6 miles at GMP, and then 8 miles of slow slogging run-walk while I cursed life and sweated buckets.
Sun: technically rest, but we spent a few hours walking around an outdoor festival
M: I'm planning 8 miles with 5x800 at 5k pace, or as close to it as I can get.
Friday was 1,000 yards in the pool. Yesterday was 1,400. Today is just a bunch of cocktail curls. Tomorrow is a 1-mile brisk walk and 1,000 yards in the pool. But since it's a holiday and I have extra time, I might throw a couple hundred extra there.
F: Regular Day off Sat: 41.5 mile road ride Sun.: 22 mile mountain bike ride (slow to take it easy on my knee, and I went to an easy trail) Monday: 60 minute recovery ride on the trainer
Friday--rest day (lol. I actually went to work at 530 am, so no run/spin for me.) Saturday--one hour of spin Sunday--4 mile treadmill run Monday --planned 7 miles. If I complete it, I will be a mere 3 miles from matching my TOTAL mileage for Aug.
F: 8 miles Sa: planned rest (packed day and wedding) Su: 5 mi easy with the new Mr and Mrs M: trying to find a 5 or 10k... If not, maybe another 5 miler?

F: 3000 yards, then blood donation S: nothing due to blood donation Su: 6100 yards - the Andy Potts workout (I'm going to make an AW post about this, I think) M: 4000 yards
Um. Nothing. Ugh. I have felt like crap all weekend.
I tried to get my 8 miler in Saturday and turned around about a half mile in because it was so hot and I felt sick. Didn't even attempt my 13 miler today. The good news is I'm feeling better this evening, so hopefully something in the 13-15 mile range tomorrow morning. This is demoralizing.
friday - 1 hour on trainer with intervals, 1 hour run saturday - 42 mile bike ride with lots of hills (started off with a group but it was raining and we left the parkinglot averaging 25mph. decided i did not feel comfortable with that pack on a slick road so my friend and i backed off. people are crazy!) bricked with 1 mile sunday: 75 minute run monday: 67 minute super hilly, super technical, super wonderful trail run!! and i am going to take a hot yoga class in an hour. it's my studio's year anniversary so all classes are free!!
irrelevant side note, i miss running with my kids.
