This used to happen to me a lot when I was out of shape/sedentary etc. I would dream of running, and it would be almost euphoric, like I was floating and going really fast. Or that I was in a race an the course was crazy, like up into a tree house or something.
I guess I have been feeling guilty about my laziness lately because last night I had a dream I was running (really) fast, but I took a wrong turn. I was angry because I knew I had been on the path to a PR. So I went home and laid in bed. Then my friends came back with their medals and I reconsidered so I went back out (in the dark and rain) to finish, but I couldn't run straight so I kept veering off the road.
Ever since I hurt my hip I've been dreaming. I'm only on my second week of rest and I'm going nuts.
Last night I dreamt about running. I've had at least 3 dreams about riding. The stupid thing is, I'm still able to take my horse out. But these are dreams about jumping. I've been doing dressage exclusively for 8 years. I haven't evented since I was 15 and even if I wanted to my horse's knees couldn't do it anymore.

Yes, very much so these days. I'm getting frustrated during my workouts. I want to go faster and I just can't. I feel good otherwise, but I'm instantly reminded there's a watermelon in my gut when I pick up the pace. Longing to feel light on my feet and the euphoria of a runner's high again is spilling over into my dreams.
In the weeks leading up to a big race, I always have a dream like that where I'm on track to make a PR, make a wrong turn, & suddenly 26.2 becomes like.....27.5. Lol

This for me too!
DD's favorite movie is Finding Nemo. It's funny, I've watched it so many times now, Marlin's voice pops into my head every time I try to do something normal but my belly gets in the way....."You think you can do this stuff Blondie, BUT YOU JUST CAN'T!"

Haha. Yeah I've been there. One thing my belly can do is change the channel on the tv on the treadmill. It will brush against it and change it while I am running (well really more like a slow jog).
I dreamed of running a marathon every night for two solid weeks before I signed up for my first. I dreamed of Ragnar for weeks after my first experience.
The funny part about this is that I "flutter" my feet in bed when I'm dreaming of running. DH has woken up to my fluttering many times.

I dream of running a lot, which is funny because I am training to walk the marathon for ironman because running hurts too much. Whenever I dream about it, I am running smoothly and quickly, which is not at all how I run.
I have had more than one dream about IM and none of them end well. I wake up completely freaked out. It is fun.

Lol! You're like a cute lil dog!
This made me lol!
To answer yes I dream I'm running in a crazy race too all the time. I'm usually really fast and win.
