I think it's okay to just call and cancel (or postpone) the pill cam if you don't want to have the procedure. Is the pill cam scheduled before your next visit with Doc #2? If so, you could ask him and base the decision on your blood work. If there is a chance you are going to have to have the endoscopy, it seems like it makes sense to postpone.

With a possible endoscopy on the horizon, I would probably cancel it, but you have to be comfortable with the decision. Also, this board seems very quiet lately.
I don't think you're wrong at all for wanting to cancel the pill cam. It sounds like GI #2 is a better fit. My pain was almost all in the left side too, and it took an MRI to see it. Good luck and keep us posted!
Doc 2 moved my appt to 3 days before the scheduled pill cam. So that does make it tight. And I feel like I need to make a decision now
I see nothing wrong with canceling. However, I'd leave your options open until your f/u appointment. What would be the benefit of canceling before you know what doc 2 will say?

No real benefit. But do I look like an ass if I do it two days before the scheduled procedure?
Maybe, maybe not. However you have to look out for #1. Canceling would really be nbd as long as you give 24 hrs notice.
I'm sorry; I know how frustrating it can be. I have an actual dx only because they cut diseased tissue out of me. But my imaging has been all over the place. We are actually talking about doing a pill cam soon to see what's going on bc my meds are off and the MRI didn't show anything (though it absolutely should have). Colonoscopy didn't show anything either. I don't try to understand it anymore.
I just don't know why I haven't had an MRI yet. It seems to me that they could look at everything. A pill came just looks at the small intestine!
I'm just sick of all this back and forth. If you're putting me through a prep/or semi prep, make it worth my damn time
The endoscopy (forgot the real name of it, the one that goes deeper) makes sense.
An MRI wouldn't necessarily show everything. Unfortunately there's no test that will show "everything." It would be nice if there were!
I think, in general, it's much better to have one doctor in charge of all your care. It's not really a good idea to have 2 separate doctors each doing their own investigation, you know? So, if I were you, I'd cancel the pill cam and stop seeing GI #1 if you aren't happy with him. Instead, focus your energy on GI #2. You can explain to him that another physician recommended a pill cam if you want. But, especially when the symptoms are complicated, like yours seem to be, it's really much better to have one person coordinating everything and trying to figure out what's wrong. It obviously needs to be someone you trust, and it sounds like GI #1 is not that person.
