I just got a Kindle Fire for Mother's Day and was starting to borrow books from our public library. One of the books requires you to download it using a USB cable to your PC, rather than wirelessly. I don't think my Kindle Fire came with one and the one that I saw at Best Buy was $24.99 which is more than I wanted to spend. So... should it have come with a USB cable? If not, can you recommend a cheap source for one? Thanks!
Amazon itself probably has them for pretty cheap... They also have great customer service. If one eas supposed to come with it im sure they will send you one asap!
I'm not positive as I have the original Kindle and not the Fire, but I think it should have come with one. Like PP, the plug portion of my charger separates off into an USB cord.

I would get one on ebay. USBs are pretty standard and Amazon's prices for them for the regular Kindle are pretty high so I would assume whichever USB the Kindle fire uses is also overpriced on Amazon. It's one of the only things I've found to be overpriced on Amazon

Thanks all. I guess I was spoiled by Apple products where you get everything you need when you buy the product. My work blackberry charger fits into the Fire, so when I get into the office tomorrow I'll see if I also have a cable that would work. The USB cords available on Amazon do look overpriced and a quick trip to Best Buy found a power cord/cable combo for $25, which I don't want to spend if I don't have to.
My android cable fits my nook but it wont work for some reason. im assuming b&n want more money from us to buy additional chargers. It might be the same for amazon.

I bought one for mine at Wallyword for about $9 (discovered the same problem last week), and as I was opening it but before I had it fully opened I realized it was the exact same cord as my cell phone used, so I took it back. It's a micro-b USB.
