I have spent HOURS on hold with Comcast for the past week and still don't have Internet service. My options are limited so I said eff it and called Hughes Net (which was recommended by DirecTV). It's a 24 month contract but we have 30 days to cancel if we hate it.
It's satellite Internet. Any thoughts or experiences?

I was coming in to say the same as skipping. My ILs live in BFE and can get satellite or dial-up only. They love the speed of Hughes compared to dial up but when my BIL came home from college they went way over their allotted bandwidth and got a large fee.
We have cable Internet at our house and I would say that the ILs Hughes Net is about 2/3 as fast. So if you live in a very rural area, you might find the same.
It's not a rural area. It's in this weird patch of HOUSTON that, for some unknown reason, it's serviced by suddenlink or at&t uverse. I'm so over Comcast and am running out of options. I practically begged suddenlink to somehow service our area lol.

DH and I are rural, and our only choices were dial-up or satellite. We got the satellite, but it's so slow and frustrating. Luckily, our phone company started offering DSL, so that what we have now, and it's so much better.
