I have absolutely no input but we have one booked for next May. Just a short 3 day one so we can decide if we want to do a longer one in Europe in the future. Never been on a cruise so this will be all new to me.
I have cruised quite a bit but not on Disney though. I find it price prohibitive. But I have heard from several friends it is wonderful. A friend of mine went with their kids and then went a second time 6 months later w/o their kids b/c they liked it so much.
So I can answer port questions and general cruise questions but not questions specific to Disney Cruise Line

I've been on two and absolutely loved them both-the first as a teenager with family on the Disney Wonder years ago and the second with DH on one of the newer ships, the Dream. The one with the H was just us and we had a fantastic time. The people who hate on Disney just because it's Disney don't know what they're missing is my opinion.
Both cruises were the short 3 night ones to the Bahamas so I am dying to do a longer one for no other reason than to take advantage of all the ridiculous offerings they have. The Dream and Fantasy are the newest ships, the Magic I believe is currently undergoing some pretty extensive refurbishments. I'd probably avoid the Wonder until it's refurbished (rumor is that it will be sometime in 2014). Not to say it would be bad but I'm sure the differences between new and old would be noticeable.
Yes, they cost more than some of the standard cruise lines but I feel it's worth it. When the cruise line first began Disney had lured away many of the top officials from Cunard which goes to show just how much of a deluxe experience they wanted to give its guests...
I have tons of blog posts on the cruise-link in siggy.
