Please tell me about your lasik surgery and whether you are happy with the results. My eyes/contacts are driving me crazy, but I'm so nervous about having my eye cut....yikes! Thanks.

I had Lasik done in 2005. The procedure was weird, but didn't hurt at all. I expected immediate results, but it was several days before I had good enough vision to drive.
Prior to surgery, my prescription was -5.0 in both eyes. I was able to go without glasses for about 3 years, but started needing them again in 2008. My prescription has been the same since then (now -1.0). I'm still glad I got it done even though I don't have perfect vision. I can function without glasses or contacts. In fact, I don't even mess with contacts because they drive me crazy. I leave my glasses on the counter most of the time unless I'm driving somewhere.

DH had ICL (http://www.visianinfo.com/) and loves it. He had pretty bad vision, like -11/-12, and now sees 20/15. There was zero recovery time and it can be reversed by having the lenses removed. Also, if you vision changes then you can get new lenses made.
I had Lasik in 2003 and my eyes are just now starting to change. I had dry eyes before Lasik, and surprisingly, they've gotten better since having the procecure. It is one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
My advice is not to go to some cheap place--we're talking about the only set of eyes you'll ever have. Get the best you can afford.
I had LASIK three years ago. DH initially tried to talk me out of it ("what if they screw up and you end up blind?!") but I told him to shove it because I was doing it no matter what. It was so awesome that he had it done two weeks later. Ironically, he did end up with a rare complication - his eyes were blood red for about a month. No pain or infection and his vision is literally perfect, but he did look kind of creepy for a while. He had to give a presentation at work and wore sunglasses so he wasn't so distracting. Even so, he never regretted it. We very highly recommend!
I had my lasik in September 2011 and had to have a second April 2012. No fault to the doctor, I hade 20/800 or worse in each eye with Astigamatism in Right eye. I can now see 20/20 it is the best thing ever. I do get the halo around light's at night but it goes away it did last time. My Dh had the dry eye's but it is gone now and he only needed one surgery. I can't believe the thing's I can see now that I could not see before even with contact's/glasses. I recommend it also!
I had PRK, which is similar to Lasik, a few years ago and have no regrets. The recovery is a bit harder than lasik, I had it on a Weds and went back to work on a Monday. They did give me a xanax before the surgery and 30 percocets for after- but I only used about 2 cause I had been watching too much Intervention and was sure I'd end up a junkie LOL. You do have to use a lot of the eyedrops at first, but it gets better. I still have a little dry eye in the mornings but don't need drops.
