I hope you don't mind if I AW a little. I'm on an ordering frenzy right now trying to get in all of our master bathroom fixtures on their way. I'm excited to finally make some progress on this bathroom and the big discounts I've been haggling/finding. Here's what we're getting:
MTI soaker tub, 6' long, symmetrical design with drain and overflow in the center. We got the low profile rim option and textured bottom (yes you now have to pay extra for this?!). Cable drain and overflow in polished nickel.
Grohe Geneva roman tub and sink faucets in polished nickel. I found the 3 sets of matching lever handles for a steal on eBay.
Kohler Ladena undermount sink. Same as our main bathroom. It's kind of big but I love the shape and the price.
Toto Lloyd toilet in Cotton same style just a different color as our other bathroom. A polished nickel handle and a 10" unifit rough-in to correct our plumber's mistake (just like the other bathroom).
And the piece de resistance the vintage inspired showerpipe in polished nickel. The porcelain accents match the sink and tub handles.
I can't wait to see this all in person! Everything combined I'm getting this all for 50% off MSRP after price matching online and coupon codes.
I love the vintage style of that line and the quality of the Hansgrohe fixtures we used in the main bath is amazing! We used a faucet from the same line in the main bath:
It's nice and easy to clean around with the single hole but still has the two handle style we like and the vintage look.
Originally we were going to just have a rainshower and thermostatic valve but we decided we really liked the convinece of having a handheld as well now that we have one in the main bathroom. When I priced out all the separate rainshower head, arm, divertor valve, thermostatic valve, handshower, wall outlet, hose, and handshower holder like you would typically see it was actually cheaper to buy the showerpipe! I preferred that look anyway though I know it will be harder to clean. I figure having the handshower for cleaning will make up for that. Plus I like that there is no access needed in the wall to reach the valve. It's all exposed so the only thing coming through the wall is the hot and cold pipe outlets. The wall it will be on is an extra deep soundproof wall with 3 layers of drywall so providing an access panel wasn't an option.
We're going to get a glass shower surround for the shower as well so that beauty will be on display!
As far as where I'm getting it it's from faucetdirect.com. They just started carrying the Axor line of products (I had to order our main bath faucet from someone else last time) but the price was too high. So I sent them the lowest price I could find so they could price match (along with every single other thing in my cart). That was the one item they said was too low of a price so they suggested splitting the difference in cost. I pushed back and sent them the next highest price I found online which was cheaper than the compromised price they suggested and they gave in. LOL I've been going back and forth with their rep a lot but I know he gets a commission from my sale so he's willing to work with me because my order is so big. For example he was price matching the toilet with the cost of shipping included from that site but I argued that if I ordered the toilet and showerpipe from them I would be getting free shipping so that doesn't count. He agreed and gave me the price! ;D

I seriously am swooning over the tub, toilet and the toilet handle. I'm actually laughing at myself right now because I have never had this kind of reaction to a crapper before, but damn. That is a REALLY nice looking toilet. The soaking tub is beautiful. Nice choices. Can't wait to see it all in place.

LOL I had the same feeling when I was first looking for which toilet to buy. I looked through Toto's catalog and immediately knew this would go the best with the craftsman style we're going for. The square chunky features, the skirted bottom which makes cleaning easier and later allowed us to fix the plumber's mistakes with the Unifit, the elongated blow that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, and the low profile tank that will hide better behind the half wall in the master bath. I was reluctant to admit I was in love with a toilet. Then I found out the price and almost fell out of my chair. But, I'm getting it for exactly half of the MSRP so it's easier to swallow. Eventually we will have a Toto Lloyd in all 3 bathrooms.
The tub...yeah...that was our biggest issue for the master bath. We had ordered a Kohler tub of a similar design with our previous order but immediately decided it was too big in person for the space. It physically fit on the plans but we ordered it site unseen and in person the thing was massive. It would have made our whole bathroom look and feel smaller. DH & I could literally sit side by side in the tub and not touch. I know some people would think that is luxury but there was no place to comfortably rest your arms and the back was uncomfortable as well. The thing took 130 gallons to fill because the front and back went straight down! That's a lot of water to heat/waste for one person to take a bath in. So we bit the bullet and returned it for a small cost. Luckily, we were able to return it ourselves by taking a road trip to the warehouse in Iowa otherwise that would have cost us a lot in freight shipping. We wanted a 6' long tub, the same square look, but a skinnier width so it didn't feel like a swimming pool. This is literally the only tub I could find that fit those requirements. Plus we got to test it out at a local showroom. It comes in a lot of custom sizes and has a ton of options to pick from style and functionality wise (water jets, air massage, etc.). We kept it simple and as cheap as we could with just a soaker. It's all we really need. It still cost about twice what the Kohler one did but our plumber swears by the brand.
PS-You will love the hand held. I love having one, and not just for easier cleaning of the shower, lol!
OMG do I want to know? I'm glad we went ahead and decided to put one in. It would have been near impossible to do after the fact because our shower arm was going to at a tall height. Of course it is just another cost add to the budget...but hopefully it's worth it in the end.
Fox, I'm drooling over your choices. I'm so glad you decided to go with the shower pipe. It's such a cool look, and I think it fits perfectly with the rest of your choices.
and loling at ssm and her handheld shower. What have *you* been doing?
