Yes, it's cabin fever, too. I didn't realize Montreal was so humid, but, derp, makes sense since it's near water, in that region where you basically drink the air some days. Beautiful, though.
yeah, I'm feeling it today. When we got out this morning to go to work it was already in the 90s with humidity at 42%. Can you get in touch with your klassy side and just sit in a kiddie pool with a frosty beverage? Do you guys have any plans to go home soon? being homesick blows :9

Yep, I am depressed for most I the summer. Cabin fever, plus walking outside for one minute just pisses me off. It's a freaking inferno here. 115 and windy is just miserable. And now it's humid, too. It's like the shitty weather trifecta.
Okay, the folks that feel it too are making me feel less nuts.
ralph, my H is like you, he loves heat.
lll, a few months we'll be home. We go pretty long stretches. At some point we're going to have to make the call if we're going to ditch H's great job to find something else to be closer to peeps. It is beyond stressful.
Oh yeah. I grew up in AZ and would get super depressed every summer. Not to mention how cranky every one seemed. As soon as we could DH and I hightailed it out of the heat and it has been the best decision we have ever made.
Yes, sometimes. I usually snap out of it with movies or books that are attuned to heat and summer. Like Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, or Bradbury's Dandelion Wine.
This is a good idea. I've been trying to embrace it, but not enough. I will try this.
I don't know if I get the sads so much as I get pissed off and whiny when it's hot. I fucking hate the heat. I would be 100% content skipping June-August and heading straight for fall.
People complain about winters here, but I would take winter hands-down over a hot, humid summer day.
elle, then I'd be complaining more about being homesick. I'm not a tough cookie when it comes to sentimentality, unfortunately. lol But, I have often heard that the West coast is the answer to the climate question. I'd probably enjoy the mentality in some parts, too.

I grew up in FL and hated the summer, especially since summer starts in like April and ends in November. I love Cali so much more, 60 during the winter and 70-80 during the summer. Only thing I miss is the beaches, California beaches sort of suck.
Yeah, for the same reasons you listed. Having two very short warm seasons to hang out outdoors sucks. I'm from Upstate NY so I'm used to, even if it does get into the 90s, the heat breaking either during a nice big thunderstorm or overnights. We used to get power outages constantly and just the thought of a power outage right now makes me want to jump up and drink a whole glass of ice water. lol.
LHC, my summertime reading is usually gothic fiction, so that could be part of why I suck at heat... those bitches are always in chilly England.
I live in FL and we only have 2 seasons. Summer and winter. Fall lasts about 1 week and spring is pretty non existent.
I always crave winter when it is summer and I crave summer when it is winter. I was really looking forward to this summer but now I am pregnant, and I only enjoy being outside if I am in a pool. The heat is so freaking oppressive.
I want it to be fall/winter already. But alas, it will be summer until October.
