Ugh, I'm so sorry that you're going through this Sloane
I really hope that you still have your job, and he leaves...it sounds like this So and So guy is the one creating the hostile work environment, how frustrating
Um, I dont think I've ever gotten an adrenaline rush because of a post on here until today! Update us when you can Sloane!
Who was that person who had an active shooter in the building that was posting? I was sitting shaking and hitting refresh every 5 seconds. It was so scary!
Go in prepared to your meeting with the true definition of hostile work environment. Several people throw that around without realizing there is an actual definition.
If you are not harassing so and so based on gender, race, age or other legally protected characteristics, so and so doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Don't take legal advice on the internet. And don't do this. A whistleblower (e.g., someone who reports fraud) can be protected from a hostile work environment. LHC had good advice.

Yeah. Our office building is big (5 floors, 215,000 square feet). There are two companies on the 5th floor - mine and another. We share an elevator lobby, hallway and bathrooms. The person with the gun was in the other company's office. My company locked our doors, and police were called to detain the man.
The issue was people thought I was GBCN'ing while some guy was in MY office with a gun running loose. Apparently they thought I was stupid. We were locked in our office and the police were here, and we were all told business as usual (just couldn't leave to go to the washroom or anything until all was clear).
This is really starting to interfere with the rest of my day now. I feel like I can't look away because then I won't be sending "Don't fire Sloane!" vibes at max capacity.

Hey, Sloan - talk about being caught in the cross-hairs! Like others, I am dying to know what the yelling was all about and how it ended. I thought my commute home would be enough time to get an update - no luck!
Obviously, a lot depends on this scream fest. But in reality, one write-up for being accurate on a time card is not the end of the world. Like Lucy said, just be agreeable to the change, keep good time card records and don't be "hostile". It often sucks when HR has to investigate a BS charge, but that's what they do. It doesn't have to end badly for you.
If you do lose your job, I am pretty sure that would be grounds for wrongful termination if it's your first write up. How ridiculous, hope it all turns out ok. (Though, by what you've described, you might not want to work there anyway).
Oh my gosh! This whole situation is nuts! I really hope the outcome of this meeting (and situation) is a good one for you. If it were me I think I'd be in the process of looking for a new job post haste.
Edit: just to be clear, not because of anything you did, but because of the CRAZY.
