So many choices, what is everyone using for a laptop bag these days? I would like to get one that is functional and stylish. My company only has generic leather with our logo on them, so boring.
It is not cute, it is not hip, it is not fun, but I use this Targus backpack:
It's called the "Checkpoint Friendly Air Traveler Bag" and if you travel at all, ever, it is the best fucking thing you can ever buy. You don't have to take your laptop out when you go through security. LOVE.
I also carry books/notebooks and a bunch of shit frequently across campus, and after years of trying cute shoulder bags for my laptop, I just can't. So I gave up and went back to the backpack.
I searched for laptop bags forever and they are all fugly except for the one y4m has. When I came to that conclusion, they were sold out.
Then I continued to search. I finally found a ginormous yellow leather tote at a little shop in SF. It is the best bag ever. I love the shit out of that bag. It's so beautiful and holds so much crap.
Except, I have not had it for very long and it is already getting strange bluish stains all over it. I have no idea where the stains are coming from. At first they were limited to the seaming area, but now there's a stain in a corner not near a seam.
I'm royally pissed because I can't ever think of any time where I've paid this much money for clothing/accessory type of thing. So I think once this bag gets too blue to use anymore, I'm back to swearing off expensive bags and will resume my old practice of buying bags at Target and Marshalls.
This is of no help to you, other than to be a round about way of suggesting looking for an inexpensive tote and not an actual laptop bag.
I have a plain black bag. I got it at Goodwill for like 8 bucks and they had a cute one but it was too small. It wouldn't hurt to check out a thrift shop.
