But it seems like they have more posts / viewers constantly. I sometimes lurk on ML and I think they have more super active posters and then waaaaay more creepy lurkers (like me apparently).
I also lurk over there. Sometimes I forget I'm on that board and accidentally respond to a post.
I think people start threads way more often over on ML instead of just updating an existing thread. It's hard to keep up that way because most threads are about stuff that everyone else seems to know about already.
I lurk on there occasionally and it blows me away how fast paced they are.
There are times I really want to join in/respond to think but I don't get the sense it's the place you can do that. There's way too many inside stories.

I agree with this. I've been over there before and I don't know who anyone is or what they have done and why they are talking about it. Makes it tricky to post. I think MM is an easier crowd to jump into conversations with.
eta: Although, I would love to have regular night posters like ML does. MM seems to have a curfew. lol
Yup, seems like all the conversation are mostly over.

Maybe this is why I rarely posted on MM. I can't post at work, so by the time I get home have dinner and whatnot, the board has slowed down. I never really saw a point in responding to threads after they've died out, but I'd just read them to see what everyone had to say. '
I've never really lurked on ML, but I've thought the viewing numbers are interesting too. I also always thought more people posted on the Politics board. Those numbers are fewer viewers there than I thought there would have been.

I'm on the west coast and this board is usually dead by the time of day I can post. I think that is why I have lurked so long. It seems silly to reply to a post where the last activity was over 2 hours ago.

The Politics board has far fewer posts per day than MM (and way, way fewer than ML!), but their discussions are usually much more in depth.
A post on MM that goes longer than the second page is kind of rare -- it usually takes Red Pepper Gate or something. It seems to me that many of the Politics posts go on for pages.
