I actually did this at the beginning of the month after reading about it on a blog I like and it was a lot of fun! I'm not sure I'd do it very often but I think I got some nice stuff. I think the keyis selecting a good item to start with. (You get to pick one item and then they fill in the others for you based on the value of the item you selected and your style quiz.) But if at least your first item was something that you either know you want to keep or something that is very popular then you should be able to get a good trade out of it.
I didn't actually start with any of those items. I had a watch like this but in pink:
I knew from following the makeupalley (I think that was it?) message boards that that was good item. But to be honest, I'm not sure I traded it all that well. I think I was kind of impatient and could have gotten something better if I'd waited. And at one point I did have a couple of cheapish sucky items but I combined them (so maybe a $45 value) and then traded down to the necklace that I liked but was only $30 or $35.
Oh and one nice thing about the site is that you can cancel within 5 days.

Ok, so I've been reading about it on the lbb website, and I stil don't understand the trading part. Can someone explain it to me like I'm a 2 year old? K thanks bye.
I think the first thing you do when you create your account is take a "style quiz" ie favorite style, acccessories. Next you pick one item their gallery. I think they introduce new items every Monday / Tuesday. You can see a preview of this week's items on Facebook on Sunday night. So you pick one item. Then LBB gives you another 2-4 items mystery items. The total value of the bag is greater than $100. Once you open the bag ie pay for the bag, you get to see all of your items. From there, you are allowed to trade items with others for up to 7 days. At 7 days your bag closes, they ship it and charge your card. And they really don't charge your card until the end of the 7 days. And you can cancel within 5 days of trading and you won't be charged at all.
To trade items you go to another gallery. This gallery is slightly different from the one where you pick your first item because this gallery includes all the items currently in people's bags. (I think they get a limited number of items each week, say for examle 10 purses. Once those 10 are in people's bags you won't see them in the initial gallery anymore but once you actually open the bag you can trade for them.) To trade you simply click on an item you like and then offer your items that you would like to trade. So you click on $50 sunglasses and then you can say I'll give you my $25 necklace and my $15 candle. That trade offer then goes to everyone that has the sunglasses in their bag. You can always view your own bag and see trades that have been offered to you. Generally certain items are more popular then others. So you may be able to trade up (get $75 worth of stuff for your really popular $60 item). You do sometimes get really annoying trade offers like a $50 item for the $80 item you have. So you kind of have to be patient.
So for example, I think when I did my bag I opened with that pink watch for $80 and got two smaller jewelry items. Then I found a klout perk that got me an extra item, I think it was a braclet. I combined my two small jewelry things and got the hat. I think someone requested my necklace for $100 earrings. I then traded the earings for a clutch and another necklace. Then I traded the clutch for the sunglasses and the scarf. That is really simplified, I think I had a lot more trades in there but that is the general idea.
I think that the key to being happy LBB is to either 1) Open your bag with one big item that you know you want and aren't going to trade away. You can still trade the small stuff. Even if you end up with smaller stuff that is meh your big item is worth the $50 cost. Or 2) Open your bag with something really popular and then trade up for stuff that is worth more. Once your bag has a lot of items / value you can then trade down for things you really, really want.
btw I think if you like them on Facebook there is a coupon code for 10% FACEBOOK10 and I just saw on makeuptalk that the coupon code glitterpick will get you an extra item. I think you can use both codes and I think you can use both codes even if you have already opened the bag. At least, with the klout perk last time, that was how it worked.
What I don't like is that you have to invite 5 people to see your bag options. I just sent you a facebook invite, Bimbi! I tried to pick the five people who wouldn't think it annoying/insane (one was my husband, who absolutely will find this insane, ha).

LOL I just saw that!
I sent an invite to my 4 other e-mail addresses (yup I have 5 e-mail addresses, lol), and then one to my mom.

How would I use the glitterpick code after opening my bag? I was able to use the facebook one, but can't figure out the 2nd one
Try "My Account" and then "Membership Info" and then there is a box for gift / discount code. It is possible that you can't use both.
Got it to work! Thanks! Man, this is fun, all this trading. I'm kind of obsessed! Oh, and to get passed inviting friends, I just refreshed the page [/quote
I fucked my first bag up. So I signed up for another one. Now I'm going to see if I can trade those ugly blue bangles in my good bag for stuff in my crap bag if I get on my phone and PC at the same time. Always trying to cheat the system.
