Chop it up and put it in a skillet with a little water, salt, and pepper, put a lid on it and let it wilt a bit, then take off the lid and turn up the heat to sear it. Traditionally this is done with bacon grease, but there's no reason to use it if you just add a little water and cover it up for a bit. The salt and pepper bring out the true flavors of the cabbage and it's very delicious.

Google bierocks. My husband calls them "meat donuts". So good. Easy to make, but takes time. I buy frozen dough, let it rise. Cook cabbage, ground beef (or turkey), onions, a little garlic, salt & pepper until meat cooked and veggies soft. Roll out dough into square pieces, put mixture in middle and make little pockets.
SO yummy and they freeze well. So make a ton and re-heat in the fall for yummy goodness.
