I'm in Alexandria, but I bought zucchini @ the Farmer's Market. I had the damnedest times trying to find flank steak. 3 damn different stores and finally Costco had some.
The store I went to didn't have flank steak. The meat guy said they no longer sell it because it was a meat that wasn't selling. I ended up with skirt steak.
I got some clams (frozen) and will make both the chicken and clamns. I want to try it out.
As for the amount of dishes, I clean as I go if I can. I also make everything as I go and don't prep. I prepped once and it was too much for me. I prefer to make it all as I go. Oh and use a food processor. mAkes htings much easier.
I'm doing the mini-week this week to see how we like it and made Chicken Tortilla Soup tonight. It was really yummy! The picture doesn't do it justice!
we do the first meal Sunday night since we have plenty of time for prep on Sundays. Also it gives us leftovers for Monday lunch. We don't like to cook on Friday nights so we usually get takeout or something.

We had the steak tonight. I liked the flavor of the chimichurri, but the flavor of the meat itself wasn't great. We had never had flank steak before, so I'm unsure whether our particular steak wasn't that good or if that's just the way flank steak tastes.
We do. Right now our routine is Fresh 20 Sun-Thurs and then we go out for pizza as a family on Friday and then Saturday DH and I either go out or order food in after the girls are in bed.
Hot damn! The BBQ chicken and spinach salad were delish!
I feel a little clumsy with the new set-up (ingredients on the right side of the paper and recipe in the middle) so I kept forgetting where I was scrolling to on the laptop as I cooked.
But, DH loved it and we shredded the leftover chicken for Meal 3 (BBQ chicken pitas on Wed).

Fajitas tonight! I left the 2nd half of the flank steak marinating for 2 days and cooked it today. SO tender and SO much flavor. We also looked up online how to cut flank as it really impacts the tenderness of the meat. Important to cut against the grain, slice fairly thin. and at an angle (youtube it). We also added salsa verde and avocado. This is seriously one of the best meals I've ever cooked. We were pressed for time so skipped the corn.
Separate comment: I have been farting like mad today. Pinto beans from Day 1??
So far, I've made the chimichurri steak and the pasta. Both were great! DH really loved the homemade bleu cheese dressing, lol. I really liked the pinto beans, which surprised me. They were very good prepared that way. I subbed chicken for the clams. Yum!

The blackened salmon was delicious!! I've never seared off fish in a pan like that, so I was a little nervous, but it was yummy. I used smoked paprika instead of regular, and the flavor was really good.
Does anyone on Fresh 20 use MyFitnessPal, too? I'm trying to figure out how I can enter the meal calories/fat/protein into my food diary.
Our pasta was a bit spicy and the sauce coated the noodles pretty well. nothing needed to be added. Unfortunately it was too spicy for the baby so I fed her leftover beans from Monday's meal. I made two sauces, one chicken and one with clam.
Loved Night 1, the steak, beans, and veggies were great. Looking forward to the fajitas. We skipped last night because I went out with friends and we don't eat clams. Going right now to marinate the drumsticks Has anyone had them yet? Verdict?

I'll ask DH. It pretty much tasted like nothing.
I added the cayenne, a ton of black pepper, and a cup of chicken broth then let it simmer about 10 minutes after I added the pasta. It's spicy and yum!
I think the choice of penne was our mistake. All the sauce was at the bottom of the bowl and didn't stick to the pasta, so it just tasted like...pasta. We couldn't find whole wheat linguine
