Well just goes to show... EVERYTHING comes back in style eventually.
I was told (forgot where, but thought maybe this board) if you wore something the first time it was in style and it comes back years later, you SHOULD NOT wear it again.
Is this true? (*as I go through my closet hiding stuff*)

I've heard that too. I personally feel that's more applicable to apparel, rather than accessories. Like if you were around the last time skinny jeans were in...you probably shouldn't wear them now.
I've actually stolen a ton of jewelry from my mom, who doesn't throw away anything. She had some really great pieces. My grandma even had some awesome stuff too.

Even that has it's exceptions. I was in HS the last time fitted jeans (no one called them skinny) with zippers at the ankles were really trendy. It was the late 80s. I am 39 now and can still wear them.
