Two weeks in Italy (Rome and Sorrento) in December. We'll be walking a lot and the weather will be cool (45-50). I need shoes!! I'd like something somewhat stylish if at all possible. Any recommendations from all you world-travelers???
I have a pair of black Skeechers and just bought a pair of SAS shoes. Not sure if either are very stylish but they are very comfortable and I can walk all day in them. They look much better than sneakers.
I have become a big fan of Camper shoes, specifically their heels, for city walking in style. I have two pairs of Campers that have served me well in Paris, Marseille, Pamplona, Berlin and NYC since I bought them and they are still going strong.
December could be boot weather, though. I took a pair of Frye boots and a pair of Merrell boots to Venice last March and Edinburgh last May and both pairs were good. These boots were also fine for long days walking around Paris in my regular life last winter.
Ditto the boots suggestion. I lived in my Anne Klein riding boots when we were in Europe this past spring. We walked everywhere. One day in London we easily walked over 10 miles. Westminster, past Buckingham Palace, all through Hyde Park, Kensington, down to Abbey Road....we were everywhere & my feet didn't hurt until late at night.
