I understand that every baby is different, but I am just curious. DS started to pull up two weeks ago. Yesterday he started cruising. I am just curious about how long it took your baby to walk after he/she started cruising.

Kari, everytime you talk about your baby cruising, crawling, I have to laugh at my baby that loves to sit. She has just started reaching out of her arms length but then falls on her head.

Ha, well if it helps he can't really sit! I am pretty sure he doesn't think sitting is important.
DD1 cruised early (8-9mo) & was totally walking by 11mo. She went from pulling up to cruising with in a week or so. DD2 I think cruised longer (3mo or more) & didn't walk until 13mo. DD3 didn't really cruise on her own will. She was in Physical Therapy & it was very forced. She started walking at 15mo finally...that was after 6mo of PT. She has low tone & sensory issues (especially the bottom of her feet) & so she didn't even want to stand/bear weight on her legs at 9mo, much less cruise.

DD pulled up at 12 mo, cruised a week later, and is still walking with support (pants, hands, etc) though she prefers to crawl when possible (it is at times a bear crawl though). She's 16 mo. She's a very cautious child though - she learned how to safely slide off the sofa before she learned how to climb up on it..
Both my kids crawled at 8 months and were cruising well by 10 months, but neither walked early. DS1 walked at 13 months, DS2 at 15 months. DS2 was so adept at getting anywhere he wanted to go quickly via crawling, cruising, and climbing that I thought he would never walk.
