I have a phobia about vomiting -- I'd rather have a broken bone, migraine AND strep throat together than vomit. I can't hear, see or smell someone vomit without getting nauseated myself. Not even on TV.
I've dreaded the day that DS picks up a stomach virus at daycare. His daily report says he threw up after nap and had a runny bowel movement at his 3 p.m. diaper change.
I'd say sanitize and make sure he is washing his hands a ton but really, it's probably a lost cause. DS got his first stomach bug in December. I was SO diligent about cleaning everything in his path, but sure enough 2 days later I was sick. :-(
Sorry. Vomit has always been one of my big fears as well. DH and I had a deal before having kids that he would deal with vomit and I would deal with blood. Unfortunately, the reality was that DS wanted me when he was sick and I had no choice but to deal with puke (although DH was awesome and did most of the clean up). I survived and like to think it desensitized me a tiny bit...but I still dread that next stomach bug.
I hope it's quick for your DS and that you get lucky and don't catch it!!!

Start chugging Welch's grape juice. Not the "added calcium!" or "Lower sugar" stuff, just the plain ol' Welches.
I didn't know grape juice had magical powers. What are they? Please inform me of what they are.
Supposedly, it's supposed to change the ph in your intestines to make it difficult for the stomach germs to adhere. Same concept as drinking cranberry juice to prevent a UTI. It may just be a placebo effect, but it works!

Ugh. I get really anxious every time there is a stomach bug in our house. I HATE stomach bugs. Luckily, I've avoided all but one of them so far. Fingers crossed that it is a mild stomach bug season. Actually, just thinking about it now makes me a bit anxious; I wish it didn't.
Wash your hands, wash your sheets, sanitize door handles, faucet handles, light switches, clean the toys, contain the sick kid to a smaller area of the house. Sanitize handles/ switches/ etc after every time you clean up vomit or change a diarrhea diaper. Teach your DS to puke in a bucket (to contain the mess and germs); we draw an "X" at the bottom of a ice cream pail and tell them to 'spit on the X.' And the standard: don't share food or cups with anybody in the house. Hoping it is a quick bug for your DS and that you stay healthy.

Plus it'll be pretty if it doesn't work and comes back up!
My whole extended family still talks about the time I puked in the back of my uncle's station wagon after drinking grape soda...30 years later.
