I have a minor update

I'm updating here and not on BOTB. The 911 chic makes me anxious. I feel like she is blaming me. Anyway.

Last night we caught 5 teen boy with one of the bikes we found. They ran over our neighbors recycling can. One of them stood on the can and jumped up and down. We tried being sneaky and taking a picture, but it was too blurry. Our neighbor opted to not call the cops.

If something else happens I have a good description of the kids. It might not help. They may not be the ones doing things to my home.

We are sleeping a little better. I haven't been home alone at all this week. I hate this.

Could you call the cops anyway? Even if it didn't happen on your property. I think you said that they were already patrolling the area more, but calling every single time something happens so it's documented might be helpful.

We had those few incidents 2 summers ago where our neighbors were hanging out right outside our bedroom window, and I still hate being home alone at night. I sleep with pepper spray and my phone right next to me.

I get how sucky it is. And we live in what I would consider a 'safe' area.

We could have. H and I spoke with the neighbor and she did not want us to call. She was afraid of being targeted. I made it very clear, I will call next time.

Good. That's what we were told to do and we had to make a few 2am calls, but we haven't had an incident in a year and half (even though I still hate being home alone late at night).

Teenagers are annoying but probably a good sign they're not going to do anything serious (like physically harm you).

911 girl is crazy. Where did you ever say you were going to install an alarm and then not call the police? Alarms are great for when you're not there or to wake you when you're sleeping but anyone who wouldn't call 911 is an idiot.

I read the first two sentences of the second paragraph today. I stopped. I feel like she is blaming me. I really don't know what else can be done. We have called the cops, we have left every single light on outside, we have made all of the neighbors aware, we informed the landlord, and we are getting quotes on security systems. We are not idiots.

I'm sorry you're still dealing with this. Hopefully it's just some idiot kids who'll stop soon.
