Ohh, good luck. I try cutting out sugar every once in a while, but then end up binging on it later. I need to slowly do it in phases. That's me and my crazy food issues, though.
I'll root for ya, but not ready to participate just yet. I've been going to the gym everyday, though.

It's part of the reason I lost 22 pounds in the Spring. But then I fell off the wagon. I haven't gained any back yet but I am cutting it out again too.
We can be cranky and twitchy together.
Seeing Kevin Arnold's bikini shot inspired me. Fuck that woman is hot.

mp, I will do it with you. I've been having a bitching hard time losing weight on this medication. I fell off the wagon when I found out about my job and I'm eager to get back on it.

Just don't set your self up for failure! Don't go cold turkey. Start by cutting back, like if you get the sugary coffee, no dessert, or no coffee and get dessert. Slowly! Then you can cut it all out. If you go cold turkey you may find yourself eating MORE to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Good luck! I could never do this. On the plus side, I'm super lazy, so if it's not in the house, I'm not going to go get it. BUT I did stop at the grocery store yesterday and got birthday cake Oreos (damn you doglove!) and ice cream, soooooo...
No cold turkey here! Definitely not giving up my social drinking ... And I will allow myself once or twice a week coffee versus everyday, etc. I'm just not dedicated enough to do it all! But figure 75% should help quite a bit to start.
I figured you were smarter than that. I'd join you, but 75% of what I eat is sugar. Don't take it away from meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
You can do it! I'm the same size as you and carry weight in my mid section too. It's also the first place I gain and lose weight. Remember winning pics? Great motivation!
I'd like to try it. After this weekend I'm planning on really cutting back the alcohol. I drank more than enough while I was on vacation. This weekend is my high school reunion, so that's why I say starting next week.

I had to bring that shit to work because we couldn't stop eating them. They were gone in less than 20 minutes. At 8am!
Me neither, mp - are you sure the way you are looking at yourself in the mirror isn't some distorted view because from what I have seen you already ARE gorgeous and hot and all that stuff you want.
Unless you're wearing the best most magical spanks in the world, I can't see any need for weight loss based on your pics. With that said, cutting down on sugar will probably make you feel better in general, so it can't be bad. I feel you, sugar is my downfall. I am a candy lover!

So what you're saying is that, despite being healthy and really fairly thin, you hate your body for being a different shape than is currently fashionable, and would rather deprive yourself of something you enjoy than question the validity of the current body fashion.

I did this. It was painful. But, I've lost 45 pounds, so worth it I guess. I think my biggest tip would be to adjust portions. Go get your sugary coffee drink, but get a tall instead of a venti. Have ice cream, but a "like it" size instead of a "gotta have it."
I would also love a flatter stomach, I'm just too lazy to work out that hard.

Ooooookay then.
No. She feels healthier being 5lbs less than she is now. What's wrong with wanting to feel confident, fit into your clothes, and eat healthier?? Does everything have to fit your feminist agenda? It's getting old...

I gave up sugar a little over a year ago. At the time I gave it up it was pretty easy, had recently separated from xh and was unhappy with myself. I loved that I was losing weight and really wanted to keep going.
Now its almost an addiction, I can't eat anything sweet. I'll clarify that me givig up sugar was all desserts, drinks with it (coffee drinks, soda, juice, vitamin waters...), no granola or other itesm like that that have sugar. I try to be pretty careful, but sometimes its really hard. I'd say the hardest is when someone bakes or my bf wants ice cream or things like that because I feel so rude saying I don't want it.
But, I feel amazing. No more crashes, no more weird jiggerty feelings from too much, I don't get nearly as hungry and feel like I need to eat. I love it and hope you it works for you!

I'm not cutting out carbs because mine are already way low. The last induction period that I did made me sick, so I've just really restricted them.
Sugar I can do cold turkey, that's pretty easy once the shakes pass. And Kevin's right the cravings do go away, it's amazing--even though I fell off the wagon , there are some things I cannot eat because they're too sweet.
