Thank you.
We just got back on Sunday! It has been on our bucket list for a while, so it was exciting to get to go this year. We were spending time in central Germany with our extended family, so we only spent 2 days in Munich. We were there on a Monday and Tuesday, so it was crazy, but not as crazy as the weekends. We toured Munich during the day on Monday and bought our lederhosen and dirndl (I would say that 75% of attendees were dressed up!), and then went to one tent that night. On Tuesday, we went to 3 different tents and spent 12 hours there, between tents and outdoor entertainment (they have a bunch of rides and shops). It was really expensive, but totally worth it. Liters were 9,80 euros. We stayed at Munich City Hotel, which was extremely close to Oktoberfest, and it was 500 euros a night for the weekdays.
If you end up going, I hope you have a blast! It was definitely a fun adventure!!
We just got back from Germany and went in to Munich for the day. We had a great time but booked our train for a holiday (reunification) before we realized it so I it was extra packed (I am guessing, it was my first time there). If you don't make reservations for the tents I would say just head straight into one in the morning, we were able to get into 1 in the morning with no problem but the afternoon was too busy.
I second booking accommodations ASAP, even the trains were pretty full when we booked.
Bring lots of cash for beers, food, and rides because you will go through it
steph196 - We sat at the table right behind you on Thursday

How fun! That was our first tent on the second day...the mellow time of the day! Haha!

MH went for a bachelor party a few years ago. He said their favorite tents were Spaten and Hofbrau. He had a terrific time but I'm pretty sure he only remembers 1% of it
