Sims 3Late Night question

First of all, thanks again to nicbreeful and gnorah who tried to assist with my earlier Sims problems. all has been solved and I'm so relieved.

So I'm back in need of some more help. I'm trying to build community lots in the LN expansion pack, in Sunset Valley, but everything keep saying 'you cannot place this object in this type of lot'.
I'm assuming I can only place those types of lots in other towns, correct?
But how do I get to or create a different town?

What are you trying to place? Also, are you sure you set the lot type to community rather than residential?

Are you trying to place a pre-made lot from the bin? If that is the case, then you need an empty lot set to community that is the same size or bigger than the lot from the bin.

When you are in edit town mode, most of the empty lots are residential. You need to click on them and change the lot type to the kind of lot you are placing. So if you are placing the "vampire lounge" there is a community lot type called "vampire lounge" as well. Once you change the lot type, and the lot is at least as big as the lot you are trying to place, it should work.

Sometimes the lots don't have a specific lot type, in those cases if it's a rabbit hole profession choose "visitors not allowed" and if it's a park or something choose "visitors allowed." Or something like that, I can't remember all the details off hand.
