We've tried a little before with varying degrees of success. I decided this weekend we're doing thre days of "boot camp" potty training immersion. So far we're 0 for 2. I hope this works. It's going to be a long 3 days...
Good luck! How old is your DD? We tried several times with DD over the course of about 6 months with no real success. She finally trained herself about a month ago and it was so easy. She'll be 3 at the end of August. I have vowed to wait until DS is ready to try to train him.
She's 2 and a half. After her second birthday she used the potty a lot and was doing really well, then all of a sudden she refused. This weekend I want to train for real and make it an expectation. So far she's not a happy camper about using the potty it I'm hoping with time she'll gie it a try and eventally get used to it. UGH!!
is there a link to the 3 day method or do I have to read the book? whats the basic idea? Put on underpants and bring her to the potty all day? no more diapers?

Good luck! Potty training is the worst.
We had to stop and start several times with DS. We did a boot camp method, but he was perfectly content to go in his underpants. Don't feel like a failure if you hit a road block.
Jenny I'm going to PM you too if that's ok. I googled it and can't find anything on a 3 day method. I'm intrigued although I think I still have some time before I start trying to potty train.
Sure! No problem. Happy to email it to anyone who wants it.
Cosmos: I think it would be tough if she has daycare on Monday unless they are 100% on board with the exact method. Is there a weekend when your parents could take her on Monday and/or you could take a day off on Fri or Mon?
I'd probably have to take off work. I can't trust my parents to follow the plan. I do want to take off during the summer since I have vacation time and we aren't going anywhere. Problem is we have plans most weekends. This weekend our plans got canceled. Maybe I should take off Monday
Good luck to everyone! My bff gave me a copy of the one day training book, but I am only about half way through. I am so not looking forward to cleaning up a bunch of accidents while also nursing a three month old. Is it bad to wait until I feel ready even if DS might be ready now? Like is there a "window " I might miss by waiting?
Being that DD has been refusing to go in the potty my whole day has been spent cleaning up pee and watching the freaking Disney channel. Please let her have a breakthrough soon.

Good luck! DS was a stubborn one, and didn't care that he kept wetting the underwear and floor. We gave up one day in, but then he decided to use the potty himself a month later.
PT is a work in progress for us, but we got really, really invested in it in mid-May.
The first day was the worst: we went through 6 (maybe 7?) pairs of underwear before dinner. I wanted to cry.
Just when I thought Day 1 had been a spectacular failure, we saw dramatic progress the next day, and by the end of the week, we were managing to keep him in one pair of undies per day. It hasn't been all roses, for sure, but nothing compared to that first day which was...bad.

Hang in there! PT is the suck!
Doesn't sound that bad to me. We went through more underpants in the first couple of hours!
Lol...Whatever the actual number, it was exhausting, for sure. I think it was right around dinner when I yelled to DH from the bathroom to bring me a fresh pair and he was like, "I can't! There ARE no more clean undies!" Er... So, yeah. Lots and LOTS of undies is the take home message for Day 1, IMO.

Good luck everyone!
We've been PTing off and on since February with varying degrees of success. It sucks but I've been trying to take it slow and follow Abigail's lead. Luckily, she won't start preschool until the fall of 2013 so we have time before it's a necessity.
