If you add whole, raw eggs to your dog's raw diet, how many eggs do you give your dog per week? Also, do you crack the egg for your dog? I've been cracking the egg for her, mostly because I don't want her to pull it out of the bowl and make a mess on the floor.
My dog is 26lbs, 3 years old and moderately active.
I'm just a little concerned about the biotin deficiency with too many eggs, but I wasn't sure if 3/week is too many.
Mine get one a day with supplements mixed in. Otherwise I used to just give them whole a few times a week. Pastured non gmo fed when the chickens need suplimental food. Dogs are 38 pounds/7 yo and 33 pound/4.5 month old
I give a whole egg every few days. They either bite it open or one of my dogs will pick it up and drop it over and over again until it breaks which is hilarious to watch.
Whole, because it's just funny. Egg yolk is a rich source of biotin, so I don't worry about biotin deficiency. Yolk and hire just cancel each other out.
My boxer gets 2 a day and my beagle one. I crack them in their bowls before freezing (I prep 28 at a time). I've tried whole and they just didn't get it. This way my compost bin and tomatoes get the shells.
