So I live in a small condo complex and we have a nice inground pool. I was out there everyday this week since i'm in between summer courses. I usually see most of the same people/kids there, so you get to know most of them. I do realize a lot of neighborhood kids that do not live here come and use the pool, but their kids so whatever. Anyway.....This woman who was there everyday this week starts talking to me as I was out there reading today. At first I was pissed b/c she wouldnt leave me alone, but then she asked "do you know if there are any open units?" umm what? I said I didnt know, and then she asked "ohh, do you live here?" umm yeah! well she didnt!! She then tells me she comes every summer and that most of the other people there who I thought lived there DIDNT!! about 80% of the people there were NOT residents!! I mean kids are one thing but they were all adults from like 20's to 50's. Its not a public pool!! Ohhh and we live in a beach town, so come on!! Sorry i'm just kind of blown away by the balls some people have :@
Ugh that is so annoying. We have a key to get in to our pool area but people just leave the gate open all the time! Soooo anyone can just walk in at any time. Luckily we're kind of off the beaten path, but we have had strangers come take advantage of it before. I agree I just don't understand people that can do that.
we had our condo we had to check in and our pics were in the system so they knew we were who we said we were, we were allowed to have guests though. How are they getting in?

I also live in a condo and we used to have like a 3 1/2 ft fence and key to get in. Since we were having trouble with others using the pool they installed a 6 ft. fence and a keycard w/security cameras to get it. I would talk to your HOA. I also think that it might be a legal issue if someone using the pool got hurt or whatever they may be able to sue the HOA so you don't want strangers using it. I don't know though, I'm by no means a lawyer.

Unfortunately there is no lock or guard. I left a message for the building manager but I do not have high hopes since i've seen how they have delt with other issues
ohhh and then I heard a group people talking about all the local condo pools and rating them, apparently they travel around and use them all!!! WHO DOES THAT!!!!
I would be notifying the condo board. When I lived in a condo complex, we had a gym and pool that was for residents only. One of the residents decided that the gym was hers to use for her business as a personal trainer. Her clients were not necessarily residents and it was super annoying. I never ratted her out, but I wanted to.
I am pretty sure when we lived at our place, which had condo fees for the pool and other stuff, that part of that money goes towards insurance for accidents, especially at the pool. I would be pissed to be paying money towards the care and maintenance of the pool and insurance and have people just coming in for free.
And honestly, I understand kids pool hopping, but that is where your accidents could lie.
Starting this summer our condo complex handed out bracelets that we have to wear. Each unit gets 3 bracelets to use, which will suck if we're still here when the kids get older if they make kids wear them. I assumed it was because certain residents would have parties at the pool, but I wonder if non-residents are "crashing" our pool.
