I'm frustrated and I need the bleeding to stop. I can't with that anymore. I can't even think straight.
I like my doctor though. She told me I had to take a pregnancy test today because she would just die if one of her patients ended up on I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant
Do they think this is fixable? I have major issues with period bleeding, but they think it's probably because of the EDS and don't want to do anything. It's complicated by the meds I'm on, though.
so far EDS being the cause hasn't come up. My entire 20s I had regular periods with no intervention. My cycle got thrown off earlier this year and it just hasn't been able to get back on track
I just worry about scar tissue forming in my uterus if she did the d&c

Oh, ok. Mine have always been screwed. Never regular, and never even close to getting to 28 days. And heavy, heavy bleeding. They ruled out endometriosis, and now with the EDS, they've decided it's linked to that. I'm on a drug that means I can't take oral birth control, so my options are limited.
I'd be scared about the scar tissue too. Do you usually scar badly? For me it's a crapshoot. I've had significant injuries that healed with minor scarring, and minor injuries that scarred badly.
I am really hesitant to start birth control. It does terrible things to my mind, all the hormones do. If at all possible, I want the shortest course of action here that gets things back on track with the least amount of permanent damage.

This is the total suck, I'm sorry!
I know you don't do well with bcp, but what about the Mirena? I had a bleeding issue once and within days of putting that sucker in I stopped bleeding. I also have a lot of issues with bcp but had none with that in.
Peachy, one of my options was a d&c with placement of mirena. Mirena is like provera but since it's placed and not oral, it might have fewer side effects. I'm considering the mirena but am hesitant because I can't just stop it immediately if things get bad. The provera has a short half life so I can have it out of my system fast.
It's still something I'm considering, though, in the coming weeks

I know I'm in the "2-5% of women have these complications" group, but I would not get the Mirena if possible. I've had all kinds of hormonal shit happening since I got it, so I don't really buy the whole 'it's local vs whole body affected by a pill' theory. Mine has also migrated, but is *hopefully* still contained in my ute. They may be able to find the strings with some kind of a brush, but it's likely I'll need surgery to get it out. I would recommend reading all the "it happened to me with Mirena" stories online. I got mine to control heavy periods and it was hands down, one of the worst medical decisions I've ever made.
Many good thoughts and hugs that something works for you soon.
