My husband's birthday is coming up and I want to get him a nice watch. But, the thing is, I don't know what is good for a man's watch.... and I don't want to spend more than $350. Mainly because my DH wouldn't want me to spend more than that. He isn't really into this sort of thing, but I know he'd like a watch. He doesn't care about name, is what I mean. He is also a Marine, and he is basic, not into fashion or anything... so it needs to be simple, manly, classic? Any suggestions? I'm lost here.
I was looking at this one. Is it good? ugly? I have no idea! I'm not good with men's fashion.
I really like my husband's watch, and it was cheap (way under your limit). It actually looks nicer in person because the blue glass is very pretty (in a masculine sort of way

I really like the watch OP, but I've heard mixed reviews on MK watches as far as quality is concerned. For that price, you are better going with a classic brand that is timeless (ha!) and has a good reputation for watches, like Fossil, Timex, Skagen, or Victorinox/Swiss Army, all of which are also sold at Nordstrom.

DH has a Citizen Eco-Drive watch that he still hasnt managed to destroy.
Have you checked the selection at Costco? They tend to have some very nice watches (both men and womens styles) and they carry the same brands as Nordstrom.

I think that Swiss Army is a great, classic brand that is pretty indestructible. Citizen Eco Drive is also really good. I like the one you posted but I'm not sure about the quality.
I know my H wouldn't wear any of the ones posted BUT he seems like the opposite of your H. Very into clothes and shoes, has a definite look, and definite opinions on what he wears.
If your guy is more into basics and cool metals (my H likes gold and warmer toned natural stuff, leather bands, plain faces, etc.), then I think the first one is cool. But I think the single tone face and band may be a trendy look.
I would look at something a little more classic like this one, if you think he might like that better.
Something in a totally different direction. Have you looked at the Timex for J. Crew vintage military watches? My H steals mine all the time to wear it, and they have a new one I've thought about getting him.
This is the new one. Don't know if it's what you're looking for at all. I like that the bands change out. My brother bought me a Brooks Brothers band for mine as well, so you have a ton of options.

I think buying a watch for someone is so hard! DH is hard to guage, too. Sometimes I'll think he definitely won't like something, and then he likes it... and vice versa. He does love wearing a suit, though he doesn't get to do it too often. He loves to travel, hike, loves sports, the outdoors... but in the past couple years he has liked to dress a little nicer, especially when we go out. He wears a lot of short sleeve, collared shirts... jeans... and he does wear cargo shorts in warm weather (I'm a huge fan of this look though) ... he likes wearing dress pants, a a collared button down shirt and a sweater over it... he's a conundrum. lol. But he definitely doesn't like anything too "fashion-y." I don't see him wearing something with a leather band.
Who knows. I can always do my best and then have him pick one out for an exchange if he doesn't like it.
My Dh would probably never wear a MK watch but he knows who MK is ( not personally) and doesn't really like him. He wears a mix of surf brands and expensive jeans, chucks and Pumas, and some outdoor sport type stuff.
He has a Swiss Army watch that is really nice and a really nice Nixon watch from Nordstrom. His everyday watch is a Luminox and his dress watch is a Tag. He was also looking the other day at a nice Burberry watch at Nordstrom.
I second the pp's suggestion to look at Costco. You can get some really nice watches there for a fraction of the price. I have a beautiful men's Skagen that I wear that I bought there for 79 dollars.

My husband would absolutely cringe at a MK watch. Is this an everyday watch? What about Invicta? You can get great deals on them at TJ Maxx and Costco. Is he into watch movements? Try googling "mechanical watches".

It's an everyday watch and like I said he doesn't really care about brand names one way or another!
Maybe the watch is a bad idea since I clearly have no idea, hah. I saw a Burberry watch at Nordies that I LOVED but it was like 700 and I don't think he would be fan of that

I like the Burberry that you posted. DH never wore a watch until he met me because he didn't like how heavy most of them felt on his wrist. I got him the basic Movado Museum with the black leather strap and he loves it. It weighs nothing, can be dressed up or down, and is very comfortable. Leather can easily be dressed up or down and is more comfortable, especially for someone who doesn't normally wear a watch. I can't link it from my phone, but will try to find it when I can get on the computer.

Yeah I think I am vetoing the leather strap one I posted. And the other burberry. I don't know if it's him. The burberry sport one I can see him wearing. When is the next Saks or bloomies F&F? not in the next couple weeks eh... haha
