stupid questions probably? Tomorrow morning I want to go run at the local park and then take dd to go play at the playground early, probably around 8am.
I will need to take a shower when we get home, but dh won't be there.
I normally would wait until he's home or until it's her naptime, but she won't go down until close to 1pm and I have other errands I want to run in the mid morning.
What do you do with your kid if you need a minute without them? can I put her in her highchair with a snack and sippy cup for about 10 minutes? Can I keep her in her bedroom? Is this disaster waiting to happen w/ a 2 year old?
My house is really small so I can see LO from the shower in my master. I just turn on some Dora on the TV in our room, give him some toys and a snack let him have at it. I do it all the time, no problems.
Can you lock the door to the bathroom and keep her in there with you? If I need to shower, I usually lock the door to my bedroom, turn on a cartoon in there, and hope for the best. lol. 99.9% of the time, they both end up standing at the shower talking to me.
My son is 3 and still stays in a play yard watching tv/a movie. But he's used to it. I've been doing this since he was an infant. I've definitely left him in the high chair when he was younger to take a shower, get ready, whatever. I guess it depends on the kid. My friend's kid would never let any of that fly.

How old is she? I usually just put on some cartoons or a movie and leave the door cracked open to the bathroom. I am in and out of the shower in 10 minutes, so I don't worry too much. I have been doing this since she was 2.
With my daughter at that age I locked her in the bathroom with a few toys and she would be fine for 10-15 minutes. Once she turned 3 I would lock her in the master bedroom and let her sit on the bed and watch tv.
I'm with cjoy. I've never really understood why this was an issue beyond the baby stage. My kids usually sit in our room and watch a cartoon, play with toys and/or eat a snack.

ok, thanks. I feel better about being able to leave her alone in her room or our room for the 10 minutes.
I don't know why it's different, I let her play alone whenever she wants to, just never have been completely out of sight bfore. I didn't know when it was acceptable to start doing that (and not cosidered child endangerment lol).
i would just put on a cartoon or whatever and assume she will either watch it or come in to the bathroom and peek at me through the shower door. she's pretty predictable.
I never even thought about this when my kids were 2. LOL I would just go shower! Can't you baby gate her in the living room or play room for a little bit? She'll be OK.

I have an enthusiastic climber :-) If I'm no there, she is trying to stand on the television or hang from the dining room light. I can't even pee alone anymore :-) I can't just lock her in the bathroom while I shower or she'll wash her hands in the toilet and unroll the paper.
Mine does the same things! LOL!
That's why she's in the bath with me or in her crib taking a nap. She hasn't figured out how to climb out of that just yet.

For now he sits in his crib or PNP with some toys. I'm sure once he gets older, he will either be locked in the bathroom with toys or the TV will babysit.
