I grew up Baptist and also attended Methodist churches. I haven't been a regular church goer for awhile, but had been thinking about getting back in to the habit.
My boyfriend is from Cameroon and is Catholic and goes to church here, so I've started going with him every once in awhile. I like the priest and it's nice to be back in to church even though it's very different than I'm used to. I'm 99% sure I'll never convert to Catholicism, but will continue to go to church with my boyfriend. I do miss the choirs of my baptist church and people seeing the holy ghost, but Catholic mass will do for now
With that said, every time throughout the ceremony I'm confused about what's going on. Like when the priest shakes the smoke in the air and it smells like incense burning lol.
Anyway, so is there some kind of cheat sheet for Catholic church that I can read up and understand things a bit more?
If you PM me your email address, I can send you some information.

Usually they have an order of mass in the pew. You can flip to the date and it will go through the readings for that mass. It also usually in the front or back has all of the prayers as well. It isn't going to tell you about all of the different parts but it is a good jumping off point for following along with the service.
