Here's just the ones i wore to dragon con this year I have several others though! Some are bought, some made from scratch, some heavily modified...most of them are a combination of all three.
I've only cosplayed at a convention once as there weren't many near me when I was more into it but my friends and I do make renesance costumes. I'll post a pic of one of mine this weekend when I go to the fair:) Unfortunatly I'm the main sewer in my group so all the more intricate costumes I've made haven't been for me, boo. I love costume making though I really need to take some classes to improve my skills.

Oooh cool! I feel like renaissance style costumes always seems so complicated to make. I need classes too, I mean, all my stuff gets done, and nothing's fallen apart yet, but it just feels like I'm making it up as I go along, lol.

Ugh ignore my spelling skills there. I totally started from scratch with learning to sew but once you get the hang of it the dresses actually aren't that complicated as many all have the same basic elements to the dress structure. My hem lines are a joke though haha.
I use to be big in it, but last 5 years have been to crazy busy. It was always a friend of mine who made all the stuff. I just got a sewing machine and taking sewing classes. I just made my dd a sailor Venus outfit. She wore it to Dragoncon, and I am working on making myself a Zombie snow white dress for a zombie walk, and Halloween.

For hemming, I make my husband pin things while I wear them, lol. But last time I had to hem a skirt, I accidentally bought one with a subtle grid pattern on it. So when it was time to cut and hem, I just picked one line on the grid and sewed right on top of it! Straightest and easiest hem ever!

What faires do you go to? I do renn costumes, too.
Oh, I should probably say that I cosplay and make my own costumes, as well. I am getting really big into it. _
That's an awesome outfit. I'm so jealous of people who can sew.
Do not be too jealous. I didn't sew that corset, that is a damsel in this dress one of a kind I snapped up a few years ago. The other stuff I either did make or extensively modify, though
Actually, minus the flag, too. I got pulled into the dragoncon parade and handed a flag to walk with the pirates lol.

So far only the MN ren fest as I don't really have much opportunity to travel right now.

I think cosplay is something I would really enjoy and get into, but I don't have any IRL friends who do it. Also now I don't currently have disposable income for that kind of thing. I live vicariously through others' awesome cosplay!
