Just got back from seeing Brave, and I loved it. The scenery and visuals were beautiful and I loved the theme of medieval Scotland. I especially appreciated the lack of pop culture references that plague most kids movies these days.
FINALLY a princess movie where you wouldn't mind your daughter wanting to be the princess. I was so worried that they would have her end up with a guy anyway, and they didn't! And she was not saved by a man either! She had healthy relationships with all of her family members too. It was such a refreshing change of pace, and I enjoyed it very much.
ETA: I normally like 3D movies, but 3D tends to be a little dark. A lot of this movie is spent in a darkish castle or forest, so it is hard to see detail in some scenes in 3D and I recommend 2D.

I saw Brave last night in 2D. I think it goes without saying that Pixar has mastered graphics. The scenery, hair, skin everything was amazing.
I agree with the review below--but found the story to be just....okay for some reason. Maybe my expectations were set too high. I did love the female character bucking traditions, and I loved that it was set in Scotland. This is incredibly cheesy but my family roots are Scotch so I felt a special connection to the cartoon story lol
I thought there was going to be...more. More story, more emotion...I expected to be MORE emotionally tied to the characters and story and I found I was only--so, so.
WALL-E had a little bit more lol...and while not a Pixar film-- I was in love with "How to Train Your Dragon" so maybe I just can't let go of those haha.
I'm going to have to borrow a girl to see this I talked one of my boys into seeing it but only because I told him he could drink soda in the movie. The only time I allow my kids soda is in a movie theater....
