That's when I usually give up on the instructions and just pin everything together over and over until it looks right. Then again, once I sew it together it has a good chance of looking like I sewed it with my feet.
What is the costume? Wine sounds perfect. You have plenty of time before Halloween.
I REALLLLY should have talked her into something simpler.
I was searching through your threads for an update and found this and I'm dying. In college my roommate and I decided we were going to make costumes like this (it was around the time of "ever after") and bought all this ridiculously expensive fabric and it sat, untouched, in a closet for YEARS. We tried, but knowing how to sew a pillow didn't mean we could do this. It was a very expensive fail.

I know you're done for the night. Wine it is. And I know you've already bought the material but is there any way you can switch the material to a shiny cotton or cotton/poly blend instead of satin. I'm a pretty experienced sewer and satin is thefuckingworst material to sew with. If you have to use the satin, use a shitton of pins to pin it together. I usually pin, and then skip the basting step and just sew through the pins, but with satin I usually baste, and with pretty small stitches. OMFG I would never sew with satin if I could avoid it (and actually, with two boys it was pretty easy to avoid.) Good luck!
ETA: Never mind. I just saw your update up there about how you're almost done. Good work!
