It was a pretty crappy situation. Major storm was expected starting yesterday afternoon into this morning. Race director emailed us and said he was rescheduling for mid-October (TBD) do to the high chance for lightening, if he did this by 1pm yesterday he would still have money to put on the event at a later time, instead of possibly canceling morning of and having to pay all the vendors/support.
The storm ended up being much milder than anticipated and not a drop of rain after 9pm last night - this morning it was amazing, perfect temps, beautiful day. So I slept in and then did the distance on my own.
I was pretty grumpy last nigh due to the disappointment, I had planned my whole week around this event, but I understand that racer safety was the primary concern. I just hope the rescheduled date is not when I am in SF for NWM, I really want to do this race, I have another at a longer distance at the end of the month.

That stinks, but sometimes race directors have to make a tough call. I've been in that situation before. It's no fun for the director or the participants.
