We're going to Montreal for a long weekend in November, possibly with two other friends. Any recommendations for things to do?
We've been there twice before and have already done the Jean Talon Market, St. Joseph's Oratory, the Biodome and the Biosphere, dinner at Au Pied de Cochon, beer at Dieu du Ciel, poutine at La Banquise, and brunch at both The Sparrow and Juliet et Chocolat.
We have Canadiens hockey tickets, but we're probably selling them since we went to a game on our last trip - our team isn't playing them so we don't care much.
Specifically, any recommendations for a good thrift shop or flea market, a good cheese/charcuterie platter, and a kosher-style deli? Last time we tried to locate a shop in Chinatown that sells the "dragon beard candy" but we couldn't find it ... supposedly it's a really small place with weird hours. Is there a trick to finding it?
MH loves craft beer, so any beer recommendations would be appreciated as well. We'll definitely be going back to Dieu du Ciel, and most likely Au Pied de Cochon as well.
I have a few places bookmarked on Yelp to try ... any input on Restaurant Pho Lien, Qing Hua, Les Deux Gamins, or Friperie St-Laurent thrift shop?
MH is going to book a B&B (not sure which one yet) since we have a gift card. We'll have our car with us. None of us are too picky when it comes to food.
