Our IL's asked if we would consider going to Palm Springs with them in March. Dh's grandmother and uncle live there who haven't met the kids. They also lived there a couple years so have friends and sort of know the area.
We are considering do 5 days in Palm Springs and 3 days in San Diego. I really want them to do the SD zoo.
Any ideas for kid-friendly activities in Palm Springs?
We are hoping to rent a condo. Any ideas on location??
We stayed at the Marriot Shadow Ridge resort in Palm Springs. We used points, so I'm not sure how much it was. We had a 2 BR and it was really nice. The grounds were AWESOME. Great pools, playground, arcade, candy store. Super fun.
We went in May and it was just starting to get really hot, so we just played in the pools the whole time.
I've also stayed at the Marriot Shadow Ridge resort (Palm Desert really, rather than Palm Springs but they're on top of each other almost) and thought it was a great family-resort.
There's a Knott's Soak City in Palm Springs, but not sure if they open as early as March:

My family has a timeshare in Palm Springs so we've been taking my guy since he was 3 months old. In fact, we'll be there again in November!
My favorite kid friendly Palm Springs activity is the Living Gardens. Especially if your sons like trains. There's a model railroad, a zoo, playground, and a carousel there. We usually have to fight my guy to leave.
There's also a children's museum in Rancho Mirage. (Palm Springs, Palm Dessert and Rancho Mirage all line up next to each other on the 111 and are fairly easy to get around).
In terms of where you want to stay, that's up to you. We usually stay in Rancho Mirage/Palm Dessert because that's where the timeshares are, but Palm Springs is equally attractive.
