Do I really need to be smearing this all over my belly?
I got a lecture from a sales associate at the outlet store yesterday.
Apparently, I am also in dire need of Parents magazine. And a bracelet to tell me which boob is next to feed my baby. And lavender-scented everything. I wanted to spit in her face.
And then a random woman who was also shopping there was incredulous that this was my first time in a maternity clothes store and peppered me with questions about what I've been wearing because "I've been shopping in here ever since I was just two months pregnant!"

You do not need Parents magazine. I got it for free somehow and still get it 3 years later. The articles are stupid. The medical advice is sometimes blatantly wrong. It's useless and annoying.

I shopped at MM and never got all these pitches. I used the Palmers and still got stretch marks. People say its genetic, others say drink lots of water ::shrug::
If you plan on nursing, sometimes it helps to remember the side that you used at the last feeding. I kept a hair elastic on my wrist. There is also a shit-ton of apps to help with that, too.
Just put something on your belly to keep the skin from getting too dry.
And no, the magazine is annoying. ML is much more helpful :-)

I not only got all the pitches, I got a giant bag of coupons and junk.
I should take a picture when I get home.
Then you can all tell me what is actually useful and what I can throw away (or if you want any of it, LOL).

The stretch marks will happen if they're going to happen BUT it was good for the belly itching. I don't have Parent's magazine. I was also generally ok remembering what boob I fed her on last.
I never got a bracelet to tell me which boob but I did constantly forget which side I last fed on in the first few months. I tried the hair tie trick on my wrist but half the time I would forget that was why it was there and would use it in my hair.
I get Parents just for for that J&J coupon that never comes.
Or gymboree. But I never have a damn coup when I'm actually going to shop there.
Cocoa butter- I don't know. Did it a lot first kid and no marks. (Or bio oil which i like better. You can get it at costco too) Haven't bothered this time and lots of marks. Honestly, I don't think it matters but it was a great excuse to have Dh massage my belly. This time around, we've been too busy. And I hate lotion in summer when I'm already feeling gross and sticky
Do you still want nursery furniture input? I had a response started, didn't have time to finish and then it was suddenly a million page post and i didn't want to drag it up if you wanted the post to die.
And motherhood is a crapshoot for sales ppl and random peep involvement. I like my basic pants from there. Some random shirts and tanks. It's good to get an idea how styles for bc then you can browse online ahead of time and be in and out quickly if you want. I hate shopping.
And lavender crap is disgusting. I hate the smell of lavender.
Palmer's, Bio Oil or Shea Butter is good for when your stomach is all strechy and itchy. Do you have a Buy Buy Baby close by? I have no clue about the bracelet (never heard of it) or lavender-scented everything
oh, everyone, just pipe down about how nothing on earth will prevent stretch marks. it still feels good to rub bio oil on my stomach twice daily, OKAY?!?!?
it helps with the itching and gives me a sense of control in an uncontrollable world.

Ohhh yeah. I remember the sample packages. I used the coupons for Carters and Osh Kosh and the one for Shutterfly but I didn't use the one for the nursing cover or anything. I ended up using Avent bottles so I used the sample bottle and I think I got a sample of Similac which I also ended up using.
Not sure if the packs of stuff have changed though.

Palmer's makes me itch like crazy. I've used vitamin E in the past on surgical scars. Following that line of thinking, I am using a vitamin E oil to hopefully prevent some marks.

Am I really going to lose my mind that I cannot remember something so simple?

Sure, I'd love nursery furniture input. I think I'm leaning toward the Wal-Mart crib.
Was everyone else's Motherhood store also really small? It made me very anxious the one time I went in there because the store was little, I had a giant stomach and everything was so damn close together I couldn't easily get through there without knocking into things. It was also way too expensive and you can't return things and get your money back. Guess that's why all my stuff came from ON and Target.
And I never had an app or bracelet to remind me which side to nurse on. I could tell by which side was swollen and which wasn't.

This seems like a horrible fate.
no. the throbbing pain and possible leakage on one side should be enough of a reminder.

Maybe with sleep deprivation. I always fed from both at each feeding but I used the iBaby app to keep track of everything. When you see the pedi they will ask how many pee and poo diapers a day so it was in my app. It also helped keep track of when I fed him last etc.
