Can you keep fully cooked food in a crock pot on the "keep warm" setting for a long period of time?
I've got defrosted chili in mine and it really doesn't need to be on low until dinner, but I don't want to poison my family and stuff.

Like how long?
I'd say "yes" to an hour, maybe a little more, but not more than maybe 2hrs. ETA assuming everything is cooked of course.

My crockpot will stay at the warm setting for four hours, I believe. I think you'll be good with what you're doing.

H has a friend who used to (not sure if he still does) keep the crock pot on warm for DAYS at a time and eat from it until it was gone. That is not okay. I'd say a couple hours is fine.
