DH reported for his too, and believe me, he is also taking it personally. I think it's because the circumstances of this shutdown are just absurd- there was no real attempt to compromise, it's pointless posturing because everyone knows it's not going anywhere, the ACA went into effect today anyway, the debt ceiling issue is likely going to screw this up even more, and it's coming on the heels of sequestration and years of pay freezes. THere is just zero regard for the federal workforce in particular, and taxpayers in general.
Hell, I'm expempt since my command is still trying to reestablish normal operations after the shooting, and I'm taking this personally. I'll be working, but likely won't be paid until it's over.
