Despite my best intehntions we are having a miserable and not yet very successful time. I hope she has a break through soon. +o( and :@ pretty much sums it up for me right now.
What are you doing to potty train? I haven't had the patience or energy to make a huge effort yet. We're just suggesting it to DD and giving her lots of positive reinforcement. So, she's still in pull-ups and rarely ever wants to sit on the potty. I gave her big girl underwear 2x and both times she's just peed right through them and then i put her in diapers. Pretty lame attempt so far.
We've been doing "prep work" for a few months but right now we took away diapers (she's running around naked, eventually add in underpants) and put the potty in the playroom where we're hangign out all weekend. She sits on it sometimes, but gets up and goes away from the potty when she needs to pee. I think she has a basic understanding and makes the connection, but for whatever reason doesn't want to follow through. I'm told that we just need to keep doing what we're doing and eventually she'll come around, but who knows
DD was sitting on the potty 5-7 times a day with no success. Then she started waking up to poop at like 9pm, so I started sitting her on the potty right before bed. She shat on the potty like 6 times in that one weekend. The biggest difference is that we leave her in the bathroom with the door open just a crack. If we do that, she pretty much goes immediately. Now I do it before naps and before bed - maybe a few times when she wakes up. She doesn't go sit on it until i have her do it, so we aren't done yet, but its a step.
I tried the pantsless thing but it was a disaster. we are gonna start training pants at home next week.
Does she have to be potty trained for daycare or preschool? If not, waiting might be worth it. My oldest PT at 3.5, when she was finally interested/motivated. It took 2 weeks, and she's had less than 5 accidents in the 2 years since. For me, it was worth having to deal with diapers/pull ups a little longer.

I hate it too. It's an ongoing fight. He wears pull-ups and sometimes tells me when he wants to poop but is still having trouble figuring out the difference between a poop and a fart. It makes me insane. I don't know how it's going at day care because his teacher is always gone by the time I get there.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
