I think "easy" runs are more about feel than pace. If GMP felt easy this morning for whatever reason, then call it a win and don't obsess too much over it.
this happens a lot to me when the weather cools off. what I usually do is bargain with myself if I'm supposed to be running easy that I must relax and if I still feel good at mile X then I can run faster.
if I'm magically pulling out a tempo at faster than planned pace, I just go with it.
How did you pick your GMP? It's possible you're not giving yourself enough credit. Getting those 20's in should help you have a better idea. How is your pace stacking up on those really long runs?
