You have gotten pregnant twice while using condoms? That is scary! I was on the pill and reinforced that with condom use but was sick of the lack of drive so we just utilized condoms alone successfully for 3 years and I plan to use them as the preferred bc method after this baby is born. Your h's sperm must be really determined. There is always stories how every bc method can fail though so I guess your story shouldn't be that surprising. Did you guys sometimes go without using one or do anything that could have led to your failures? Sorry if I am offending you, you don't have to answer if you don't want, I'm just curious.
Nexplanon. I heard/read too many horror stories about IUDs but my schedule changed and it was harder to remember a pill. The nexplanon has solved that problem nicely.
Lol, I should have been more clear. We did use one when I got pregnant with number 2, and we were supposed to be using them the night I got pregnant with number 3, but it followed a night of drinking and when we realized we didn't have any, my husband was all "we're good" and we did the pull and pray method. obvs did not work. I just meant we failed at the condoms in general. Like we were very loosey goosey with them. Totally not offended at all. We are clearly not responsible enough for condoms.
I voted pull out, but since I am 8 months through a surprise pregnancy, I don't recommend it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do after this baby, since I can't go back on the pill due to a clotting disorder.
We are using condoms which we have used in the almost six years since Emily was born. I wanted to be able to see if my cycle regulated itself, and we had also planned on having our kids relatively close in age, so it made sense to just stick it out with condoms.
After I get my period back and stop breastfeeding this time, I would probably consider Mirena or Seasonale. I like the idea of not worrying about taking a daily pill and/or not getting monthly periods.
Before TTC the first time, I had been on the pill (Estrostep) for 7-8 years; it did its job and didn't have any adverse side effects for me.
