Everything. Lol. That's my method. Charting to avoid and using condoms, then using condoms, spermicide, sponges...you fucking name it while it's ovulation time.
Condoms? Sorry I got nothing. I hate the pills and the iuds. We did condoms between my miscarriage and TTC for maybe 6 months? Not sure I'd do 4 years of that though.

I was on the pill before we had kids. Went off the pill, had my first DD, went on the mini pill, got off it, had my second DD. When my second DD was 3 months old, my husband got a vasectomy. I love it! I'm Birth control free and it feels great!
I am on my umpteenth and least offensive pill, and h pulls out. Occasionally a condom for simplicity.
which pill?
My Dr. kind of sucks at this stuff. I used to do alesse back in the day. Right after the baby she gave me Yaz, but that's not good for you right? Lots of blood clots reported?

Yes, yay has tons of reported problems. I was on it for a year and my doctor blamed my sudden gallbladder disease at 19 on it.
I am on Natazia. My dr said it is one of the least hormonally disruptive ones because it is closer to bio identical. It's a natural form of the hormones instead of straight up synthetic like armour thyroid vs synthroid. I've been happy with it - no side effects I've noticed (common for me on all the others were weight gain, depression, irregular bleeding, etc)
I was on the pill before getting pg and I think I'll either chart to avoid or something else after the baby comes. I haaaaaated the pill and was terrible at taking it.
I was on the pill for about 10 years before we started TTC. I had a time period of about a year where I had to switch pills a few times in order to find something that worked better for me. I finally settled on Seasonale, which worked really well for me. Due to insurance stuff I had to switch to a generic version about two years ago, and that absolutely killed my sex drive. I was about to ask my doctor to try something different, when H and I decided we were ready to TTC, so I just stopped taking it.
I guess my point is that different things work for different people, and sometimes something that has worked great for a long time will start causing side-effects. You kind of have to be persistent in finding what works well for you, and if something isn't working get your doc to swtich it up. It's frustrating though.

I'm on what they call the mini-pill. The brand name is Jolivette. Being on the higher dosage pills made my blood pressure skyrocket and they made me so hormonal and weepy. I would bawl for no reason.
The mini-pill is still something like 96-97% effective, but that is slightly less than the regular pill. Because we definitely do not want kids, we also use condoms. Eventually, we want to be permanently sterilized.
The most successful BC for me (successful in the obvious way but also in terms of no side effects) was LoEstrin24Fe. Post-baby I will not be going back on HBC ever, and H and I are both wary of IUDs, so until my cycles regulate we'll be using condoms and cycle tracking (and then just cycle tracking).
I checked tubal, but I have Essure. I do not like it and wish I had had a tubal, so there you go.
Between babies, I did a Mirena.
Why do you wish you had a tubal? You're the only person I know who had the Essure and I want a permanent solution soon (regardless of Jake's vasectomy decision lol).

I want to know this as well. I want a tubal and everyone keeps telling me to get essure
I use depo. We were using condoms between a miscarriage and number 2, but we failed. I wasn't that annoyed because we had planned on a number 2, which had resulted in the miscarriage and were just giving ourselves time to grieve before jumping right in again. And then we used condoms again in between 2 and 3. We utterly failed again. I was pregnant with number 3 when number 2 was a mere 6 months old. After number 3, we went to a vasectomy consult, and a couple of things made me feel not okay with it. For one, I am a sucker for my husband and I think he brought me on purpose because I felt really really badly about it. And two, his good luck that my firm had just received a failed vasectomy case at the same time. So I decided to re-try depo (which I had been on before we started trying) to see if I could handle it, and then if not to revisit the vasectomy option. All other options just don't appeal to me. I have been on depo since my first post-partum visit, and my baby is now 19 months old. I almost called it quits about 9 months in because I had periods that lasted for weeks (and I had the opposite experience during my prior time with it), but my doctor convinced me to stick it out for one more round, and then the marathon periods actually did stop.
Something else. I use the cbfm to track my cycle and avoid my fertile days (no charting/temp stuff) and if I cut it too close I use plan b. Works well enough for me.

I am an absolute mess on the pill, any and all pills.
I am on my second IUD now (mirena) and I really like it, but there are some horror stories out there. It works for me though and I never have crazy mood swings or behavior anymore. Well...sometimes. But "normal" crazy behavior, not total insane mood flips.
