I don't care for the author's writing style, so I say no.
I actually loved his previous book (the Virgin Suicides). Maybe it was the weird subject matter than did me in with Middlesex. I got to around page 60-75?

I'm rereading a discovery of witches by Deborah harkness which is a great book but a lot lighter than middlesex. I read the fall of giants last year and it was really good dealing with the lead upto and the fallout of the first world war, it's fiction and follows 5 families (1 in each country) I just finished Open by Andre Agassi and it was so good.
I couldn't finish it so I vote no. I just read "the Tiger's Wife" by Tea Obreht. I didn't think it was as good as the reviews indicated but I enjoyed it overall.
When I first read it, I loved it. But when I think back to it, I think that it wasn't that great. I think it's a good read but doesn't really hold up as a good book when compared to others I've read.
Jeffrey Eugenides' most recent book, The Marriage Plot, is absolutely fantastic.

I liked this pretty well.
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell is fabulous.
For anyone that's interested in fantasy/magical elements, Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor is one of the best books I've read in the genre.
I LOVED that book. I could see the first part being hard to get through if you don't like historical fiction. But it sets the tone so you feel the family's history that is woven into the person the main character becomes. I felt like any person who has felt disenfranchised or marginalized for being different could identify with the storyline by the end.
This - I'm originally from the Detroit area so I really liked the book, as it talks a lot about the local culture and such. I also found the topic very interesting.
