I very VERY rarely have overnight guests (like, once every 2 years), and DH and I have hobbies that require lots of *stuff*. So we have a hobby room instead of a guest room. We have an air mattress that doesn't leak that we have used when my parents visit, and we can rearrange our hobby stuff to make room for it. But I'm sure it's not *comfortable*. The parents are spending Christmas here, and I know my mom has been having some back issues and my dad has been having shoulder issues. They refuse to take our bed.
So -- are there any GOOD quality air beds or other portable/collapsable beds out there? I don't mind spending $ for them to be comfortable, but I'd like to know from real people that it's worth it before I fork over the cash.
We have this one too and have been happy with it. Or at least our guests have been happy. We put one of our extra egg crate pads on top of it to help it be a little softer but you can also adjust the air pressure.
I think a big benefit is getting a double height one. I hate the one that are one level on the floor. Other than that, I think part of it is how much air is put in. They always make my shoulder hurt anyways.
I got mine a bed bath and beyond it has a built in pump and it's a double mattress everyone that sleeps on it says it's comfortable I spent a few hundred on it It's called the original aerobed

We have a queen-sized, double-height air mattress from Coleman that I love. It's so comfortable, I sometimes wish the boys would use the bed so I could use the air mattress when we are all sleeping in one room.
We have a Coleman one that has its own pump. I've never had to use it personally, but several guests have in the past and they all said it was comfortable. It's queen size.
